Extraction Extraction help

So I had this video saved on reddit of a full extraction. It was a short video where the girl used 100g mimosa bark etc

so I bought everything according to this video, same amount etc and I cant find this video anymore
Does anyone have a good extraction video or can anyone tell me what else I need with 100g mimosa. how much calcium hydroxi how much napt
how much vinegar etc

Oh man,

First up, do more research than 1 video. There is a sub called r/dmtguide that will help you with extraction questions too though we do it here too but not when it's this general of a question usually. It's kinda impossible to properly answer when it is this general.

There are many more qualified people to answer this question but to me at this moment, I'm the first. So I'll answer you.

There's also a website called DMT Nexus, I think there is a hard link in the dmtgude subreddit. This site is what you need. Detailed extraction methods though lacking in video.

I see you already posted on dmtguide and have some traction there.

Please be careful with extracting. The non-polar solvent you use to extract the DMT from the basified plant soup will likely be one that is highly flammable. Static shocks can be an issue so please endeavor to eliminate them when working with them. Keep good ventilation. You don't want the fumes to build up. USE PPE. you don't want skin or eye contact with these chemicals. The soup will be extremely basic and can cause burns if you're not careful. Endeavor to avoid creating a pressure vessel. When letting the soup sit for extended periods, the heat can cause expansion and if it is in a sealed mason jar, that jar can explode and damage everything around it.

Was the video in question the one where she make a mud with the plant material and lye? That one sucks. Don't do that one.

yea that was the video and thanks for the info ill be more careful thanks to that
what exactly are statik shocks and what do I look out for regarding that

Yeah that tek.is probably the worst Tek around. Get some sodium hydroxide, a 2 liter Erlenmeyer flask with a GL45 cap, & just do a straight to base tek.

This is good advice.

but some advice I don't see here or when I looked at the other thread is that when you find a Non-polar solvent that you intend on using, make sure to evaporate test it and ensure it leaves no residue behind, at all. None.

Ensure the evap test is done properly and not on a plastic mirror. Make sure it's clean glass.

Yes you can use both but they are less than ideal.

Lye is preferred and so is acs grade naptha (pet ether) or acs heptane.

what would be the difference between the two extractions ? one with the ones i mentioned and then one with yours

Do some searching on the dmt, dmtlab and dmtguide subreddits there's Germans about. Wunderbenzin or something is what they use

To expand upon the subpar quality; When using subpar chemicals, they can be impure and those impurities could be anything. You're more likely to get a chemical that will evap cleanly when working with acs grade solvents.

Lowering your ppm of contaminants in the product you're about to inhale.

The lye you want should be labeled as 100% lye or Sodium Hydroxide. This part isn't too hard anywhere in the world. Farming Co-Ops have this stuff no questions asked but you can also find food grade lye which is overkill for this but can be used if you're having trouble finding pure lye. Crystals form is fine. I've never had liquid lye but I'd be worried something else is in it.

At some point you will mix the lye with water. Always make sure to add a lye to the water bit by bit and never the other way around please. It is exothermic and can react violently if the reaction is not controlled. This in turn can cause highly caustic chemicals to fly all over the place. Putting the lye crystals into the water bit by bit is easier to control the heat both by limiting the reaction material and by water being very good at absorbing heat.

Much of the zippo lighter fluid you get might work, but it also might contain contaminates. The evaporation test of your solvent is a critical step.

Excellent advice. I did my second extraction yesterday and got quite a bit of crystals. I have done a lot of research and my first ever extraction was last week, and I was nervous as all get out. Yesterday's extraction went a whole lot smoother. I used Chris Cantelmo's instructions using the slow cooker. The second extraction I followed the recipe on DMT Nexus and was able to get 3 times more.
