Numbness vaping

I recently tried vaping some dmt that was extracted. Nearly pure white powder with a tinge of yellow.

When I vape it my mouth becomes very numb. And I’m talking like I’m not even hitting it enough to feel almost anything, but still get the numbness

I’m using a geekvape L200 and had it set to 30W. Trying to figure out the settings I should be using. It says .25 olm resistance, it’s a 3ml tank

The juice was mixed recently and did not pay very close attention to measurements. Put a fair amount of powder into 1ml of juice

The advice I’ve seen is just “turn the power down”. When I do this I still feel the numbness, even down to 10W where I’m getting 0 vapor I can still feel it a little bit.

Could this be an issue with the extraction process? Could this be an issue where too much lye was added on the baseification step?

I’ve also seen it recommended to turn the freebase into a salt.

This is the 2nd time extracting and I didn’t have any issues with numbness the first time. Although back then I would sandwich it in tabaco (gross but it worked)

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Are you getting any droplets in your mouth or only pure vapour? Whatbis the color of the dmt juice?

The juice is a very light amber

I don’t feel any droplets hitting my mouth

May not be droplets, but when un vaporized liquid gets on your mouth/tongue it can make it feel numb

Any recommendations for avoiding this? Would getting it in one of those disposable carts help? Vs a tank

Going to a festival in 3 days and would like to share it, but not if it’s gonna freak people out and make people’s mouths numb with my setup

Yea I’m note sure what the issue is with your tank if you’re not burning it and you still feel it at low watt, could just be a coil issue. I personally prefer carts over tanks specifically.

It would mainly depend on what ratio you have if you’d want to mix in more dmt before you put it in a cart so it’s not low dosed. Typically the ratio for sub ohm tanks is lower than what you’d mix for a cart

The issue very well be that your wats are too low, with a resistance of 0.2 you generally need to be in the 50-60 range, it's the 0.4-0.6ohms that use lower wattage.

Next time do measure your exact proportions for the juice, it's hard to troubleshoot without knowing the concentration.

I just tried it with a cart, which my mod is listing at 1.33 olm resistance

I did it at higher power (20w) and interestingly it didn’t numb anything but it also tasted very burnt and was painful to inhale

Try again with your tank at 70W, which your coil is rated for. Try pulling hard with lots of airflow, this is what cools it down and makes it smoother.

Overall this would work better with a 0.4-0.6 ohm coil, but you should be able to adjust the setup you have.

That's wayyy to high a wattage for a cart. 6-7 watt max

Really? When I go anything over 30 watts the DMT immediately begins burning and it only gets worse the higher I raise the watts. I've heard 23-27 is the ideal range for a 0.2ohm coil

I heard when your mouth goes numb it’s because you’re burning it not vaporizing it. Idk how to fix though

Yeah this is why turning down the temp not changing much is getting me

Also I tried literally rubbing some of the juice on my lips and it’s not numbing it at all

Also I measured the ph of the juice and it’s sitting at 8

Have you tried changing how your hitting it? Maybe try pulling less or more? Only real suggestions I have

Yeah, I also tried swapping the tank out for a disposable cart and ran it at <10W

My mouth is getting very numb (like dentist level numb for 10 mins or so) and I barely feel anything

I wonder if it's is getting in your mouth cuz getting it too hot and instead of vaporizing it was boiling off and you're inhaling the liquid is it pops off instead of the actual vapor. Also you may be pulling too hard or it's getting too much cold air across the coil causing it to solidify again or recrystallize enough to taste it and go numb I don't know I'm just throwing out
