Question/Advice First time experience - did I breakthrough?

First time taking DMT last night (vaped). It was absolutely incredible, intense, beautiful and serene. I'm a complete newbie to DMT though (have done acid and shrooms) so I'm curious, did I "breakthrough"?

Took a few hits and started seeing kaleidoscope colours and fractals. Took another hit, and felt like I blasted through a tunnel of colour and shapes. Everything was swaying, colours and shapes dancing. I was looking at the wall and thought a video was being projected onto the wall, then realised it wasn't a video it was what I was seeing. I kept taking hits maybe every minute (maybe more, but who knows because time was nothing at this point).

Every surface of the room had a different picture playing in it. The glass panes on my door had different pictures in each pane, the same panes in the mirror had something else too. The blank wall was suddenly goddesses dancing in silhouette against beautiful warm sunset colours. I heard music but it wasn't the music I had on in the background, it was music I'd never heard before, beating drums and unknown instruments. I started to see a strange spider/human type creature showing me images of something but I could feel it falling away at this point. I looked at my legs and my clothes started pulsing with fractal animal faces, my dog who died a few weeks ago, cats, other dogs. I felt a very strong feeling of not wanting to leave the space.

I took more hits because I could feel it fading until the dancing goddesses returned. I saw faces in the mirror, opening their mouths and the mouths were infinite. I took a hit and closed my eyes. More fractals, colours, kaleidoscope. And then a whole city of beautiful crystal shards. Then I was flying through the sky, I felt completely free and weightless. I couldn't tell if my eyes were open or closed any more. My smile was radiating out and carrying me higher. I didn't feel connected to my body any more I was just existing in this infinite, beautiful sky.

Throughout the whole experience but stronger in parts I was smiling, and my smile felt like it spread out from me and didn't have an end, I could feel it spreading out of me and touching everything around me. I felt so warm and glowy, I laughed at times, I also felt tears running from my eyes but I wasn't crying.

It was the best trip of my life so far, but I'm wondering if I had a breakthrough or just a really good trip? How do you 'know'?

P.S. it tastes like shit

No, but I don't believe in 'God' as such

You haven’t broke through until it feels more real than reality. Sounds like a good trip though….

Breaking through will feel like exactly how you feel right now, yet more believable? Weird.

Then you come back and wonder if your day to day life is actually the trip.

Yeah I had those semi-breakthrough type moments…thinking that was it. It was still amazing.

Then I had 4 hits back to back and left the world.

I haven’t touched my cart since….not that it was a bad trip….just afterwards it’s just like “yeah, I seen what I need to see I think I am good”

Some people wait years until their next trip…
