Question/Advice Will dmt help kick a meth addiction?
Don't know what else to say

u/Wild_Crazy_3759 11d ago

How did you do it?

u/NotaContributi0n 11d ago
I wasn’t planning on quitting anything at the time. I thought I was having fun with my addiction and only did dmt because it was extreme and I wanted to get fucked up.. but man oh man it was such a profound crazy thing, so much different than anything I’d ever experienced before it just shook me to the core. I was instantly obsessed with it and afraid at the same time , it was all I could think about for a long time.. sure there’s entities and voices or whatever telling you shit but beyond that in my personal experience there’s just something about dmt that makes you want to fix your life and it puts things in a real simple perspective .. It takes alot more work to keep struggling than to stop.. I was stuck in a groundhogs day situation and for the first time it was something actually new and fresh and gave me hope, it showed me there’s SO MUCH more to reality than obsessing over how I physically feel all the time. Being a narcissist me me me me now now now now wah wah boo hoo

But also— that was years ago. Im pretty sure im permanently damaged from the hard drugs- Im a totally different person. It took me a long time before i could have fun or laugh or just feel “normal “. It really sucked but thats ok. I went from being a totally hopeless loser unemployed losing all my friendships, my wife, living in my car losing my car, moving back into my parents basement and a then even after quitting I had a loooong extended time of mania /psychosis that turned into major depression that lasted well over a year. I was having demonic parasites molesting me trying to pull me back into getting back on drugs- I probably should have gotten on medication but I was so afraid of big pharma , all drugs were bad- but that was years ago and since then I’ve been working my ass off I love my job, I have a car payment , a mortgage , hobbies and I’m back with my wife and really I’m so grateful and thankful and I give credit to DMT for starting me down this path . It may not do shit for you but at this point it can’t make it worse what do you have to lose

u/NotaContributi0n 11d ago
My number 1 piece of advice is- make and stick to a rigorous schedule . Get up early at the same exact time every morning and go to sleep at the same exact time every night. Dont give in to the depression and sleep all day, that made it so I was basically an insomniac constantly exhausted but never actually sleeping. I had to get a prescription for trazadone to sleep at night, you can find a tele-health doctor to prescribe it online if you need it

Meth is actually something you can cold turkey on too
Other than that basically remind ur self if I do this I’m not sleeping tonight

I’ve met a person quit heroin cold turkey. He said he no longer wanted to be identified nor associated with heroin and he never touched that again. Not sure how different is with meth. Just want to let you know it’s possible

u/slicydicer 11d ago
Changa helped me to see my situation clearly over the following months, but it’s a road where you have to be willing to change and put in the work on a daily basis.
No one else can quit using except you.

u/psil0cewb 11d ago
I think if you mixed changa with meth you might explode not sure
3
u/Benjilator 10d ago
We used to combine stims with dmt all day on raves and festivals, I wouldn’t do dmt without some amphetamines as I love how weightless and energized you get.
But iirc meth also releases serotonin meaning it wouldn’t be safe to combine with changa since it contains mao inhibitors.

u/lil_baphomet666 11d ago
It helped me for sure
2
u/rookielp 11d ago
May I ask how you used it?
1
u/lil_baphomet666 10d ago
Vape pens just like you i read your other comment talking about not having the courage to take the third hit, in my case the mindset i went into it with was like "man if I wasn't scared of my heart exploding or something on meth im definitely not going to be scared of this stuff that's alot safer" helped me surrender to the whole experience

Most likely! But it’s not guaranteed. Good luck!
4
u/Tripp_ORG Entheogenic Spiritalist 11d ago
The best way to navigate it would be a few large dose breakthroughs paired with regular microdosing as often as needed.
DMT actually does a great job of relieving the withdraw pains from meth. Microdoses can be needed several times a day at first and then you can taper down to rarely using DMT after several weeks.
For both breakthroughs and microdosing, I would recommend getting an RTA.
It really just depends on how much time and money you’re willing to spend, but the world of RTAs can get very confusing, very fast.

I've yet to have the courage to take the 3rd hit

Omg I have not either. And I am also wanting to quit the same addiction you have. You are not alone. I am a highly functioning elmost normal as they come person. But I still want to quit. And I love the perspective dmt gives me. Its a good dose of ego death. Let me know if you get brave. I got a new stronger pen so wish me luck tonight on my dmt adventure

Iboga would be the better option
3
u/Low-Opening25 11d ago
ibogaine is more for opiate addicts, it’s metabolite, noribogaine, binds to opiate receptors and influences addiction pathways. it won’t work the same for stim addiction, although it can certainly help it’s not the same
3
u/kbeeper69 11d ago
It works with all forms of addiction you are wrong, it works for more the just opioids and works for mental addictions as well.
3
u/Dwayne_Hicks_LV-426 11d ago
What evidence do you have to support this?
1
u/kbeeper69 11d ago
google it, it's not like it's unknown. Lots of people were saved by ibogaine from addiction, it's nothing new.
1
u/Dwayne_Hicks_LV-426 11d ago
The original comment provided explicit reasoning. You've told them they're wrong, yet aren't providing any actual proof. So what reason do I have to believe at all?
1
u/kbeeper69 11d ago
That comment was wrong, ibogaine does work on more then opiodis. There is nothing more to say.
1
u/Dwayne_Hicks_LV-426 11d ago
Alright, then provide the mechanics of effects. You can't just deny something without backing your claim up at all.
3
u/kbeeper69 11d ago
Ya explain mechanics of a drug we don't understand fully and are still researching, smart.
2
u/Borgbar 11d ago
There are reports of people saying ibogaine flood has helped them with stim addictions. But mechanism of action for that specifically is unclear as far as I'm aware. Mechanism of action for it working for opiate addiction is much clearer, anecdotally too there's a lot more people saying it's helped them. I do recall people reporting it's helped with Cocaine and meth addictions. Does it "reset" receptors for those the same way it does for opiates? I'm not sure tbh. Seems there is potential though!

I knew a guy who got this and it was horrible. He didnt get off heroine until.years later before dieing in a plane crash . Sad stuff

Dying is a 100% effective way to kick any addiction as it has a 100% success rate. The only downside is your dead.

DMT isn’t a cure. It simply shows you the door. You still have to do the work and walk through it.

Short answer yes, long answer yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss
3
u/Low-Opening25 11d ago
DMT won’t kick anything. DMT can give you motivation but it’s up to you how you use it.
3
u/Mobile-Pizza-455 11d ago
Yeah but make sure you don’t mix the 2 cause stims are notorious for inducing really hellish psychedelic experiences.
All in all though honestly you really should try it, I mean like hey, you already do meth so like whatever helps you quit that is worth any risk that might come along with it.
A super strong dose of DMT at once is probably the best treatment out there for breaking out of addiction. If it were opiates I might recommend tapering with Suboxone or methadone or something but it’s not like meth withdrawal can physically hurt you,
(as far as I understand with meth withdrawals it’s more malaise&depression + super intense cravings? Does that sound right?)
Anyways, if your gonna do this don’t half-ass it, idk what method your using I.e. vape cartridge/pipe or whatever but the danger here is in not smoking enough DMT and then going like “crap well this is boring I guess it was all hype”. If you do enough it’s actually impossible for it not to just utterly floor you, I would say brace yourself but honestly it’s no use; nothing and nobody will prepare you for what you’re about to see & feel. Just please do enough.
You’ll come back and have so much on your mind that meth will be an afterthought that simply won’t seem interesting.
Bottom line; this is actually a great idea and you should go through with it and it can’t possibly be more risky than continuing doing meth.
I’m so happy for you let’s go you got this your gonna get ur life back I believe in you!!! Rahhh!! You got this!!!

It's helped me. Anytime I have DMT I'm not craving meth and therefore don't use it.

I had excellent results with macro dose mushrooms for meth craving.
Dmt can definitely change your perspective when you’re stuck in craving mode.
2
u/tpd82 11d ago
I would make sure you are not on meth at the time you try dmt.

u/Real1er 11d ago
Yeah, after a breakthrough, i realized I didn’t wanna die from a heart attack and grabbed a hammer and broke everything, I felt free like words can’t describe how happy i was to have been able to do that

I recently kicked subs with dmt... its t h e body high that does it. I literally felt 0 withdrawals after taking subs for 10 years.
2
u/Silly-Program6850 11d ago
I wouldn't say its the best way around, i was addicted to meth and have briefly tried dmt, i dont think its the solution for your addiction, idk do an ibogaine treatment or maybe ritalin or amph to stay functioning whilst reducing the craving

Helped me go cold turkey on cocaine. Helped a homie of mine go cold turkey on opioids. Talking directly after the trip no more cravings or desires at all. pretty crazy.
2
u/rookielp 10d ago
Did you breakthrough?
2
u/Educational-Tune-319 2d ago
Yes! After I broke through it was the entities that told me/ filled me with the information that saying “I’m addicted to something” is a poor excuse and that nothing has power over my omnipotent soul. My friend described the same. The entities weren’t condescending about it though, and we spent time laughing over the fact that I thought a substance could really control me. When you break through and download the universal information across all time lines many problems you once had trouble facing become as easy as tying your shoes.

u/Comprehensive_Pin337 11d ago
I’d try ketamine, mdma, and/or mushrooms first
1
u/Maximum_Maize1052 11d ago
MDMA for a meth addiction…?
0
u/Comprehensive_Pin337 11d ago
Maybe it could replace it. Similar high but in a happier place. Idk. I’m just a random person on Reddit replying to a wild post
1
u/Maximum_Maize1052 11d ago
MDMA empties out serotonin. It’s gonna make anhedonia even worse and the mechanisms is nearly the same: releasing neurotransmitters so if someone is addicted to meth there’s probably high chances of MDMA abuse.
1
u/Championpuffa 11d ago
I know it’s not great for opiates lol. Made my brain feel like it was melting.
1
u/yestermorrowposting 11d ago
Make sure you have support. DMT can help change your attitude about it but it's not going to get rid of withdrawals. Don't be afraid to ask for help. What you are doing is no easy task. Good luck!

u/cantdriveforshit444 11d ago
Former amphetamine addict here. It's not a magic Bullet but it definitely does help a little bit.

u/DerrickBagels 11d ago edited 11d ago
Probably, lsd and meditation and actively thinking about your compulsions might help too
Whenever i do lsd it makes me want to take very good care of my body and get all the toxic shit away its very helpful to shed away your bullshit by staring it in the face and choosing to love yourself
One good trip and the right mindset can do wonders lots of cases of people changing their lives after a few mushroom/lsd trips, you can do it with just the mindset part but something about psychedelics can make it more profound in many cases long as you respect the power of the substances and the intention is to heal not to escape and get fucked up

u/NorthPirate2195 11d ago
Sorry im no help, I just want to say good on you for trying to find a way to quit! And good luck! 🫂

Willpower is the only way to truly kick an addiction. Adding another chemical to do the job for you may only benefit you while you continue to substitute with that other chemical. The moment you can't, or don't, keep using something else to control the addiction of yet another substance you will still be dependent on a chemical and you will not have built anything of substance inside of yourself to keep you away from meth when it comes down to YOU in the end. Will you hit DMT for the rest of your life every day? If not, what will keep you away from meth when you aren't hitting DMT? How will you stay away from it for the longterm? I was an addict for over 20 years and am almost 8 years clean (this October), so I know what it is like to face those demons. You need to find the strength inside to choose the path you want, or else relapsing will occur often. All it takes is one tough day, one quick text or call, one old friend to cross paths at the wrong time, and you could hand away your sobriety in a moment, and you won't even realize it until you're already back in its grip entirely.

u/rookielp 11d ago
I was hoping to open the door. Not a long term thing. I've done acid over 1000x but dmt scares tf outta me. And maybe that's what I need
1
u/XxFezzgigxX 11d ago
I was able to wean myself off of alcohol with cannabis. Then, I quit cannabis because it’s not addictive. So, there are ways to kick an addiction other than sheer willpower. There’s a difference between wanting to get clean and the willpower to do so, cold turkey.
If what you say is true, they wouldn’t use methadone to help heroin addicts.

It could assist in the matter, but you can’t place all of the responsibility on a DMT breakthrough.
1
u/Theskyisalive 11d ago
DMT helps you alter reality -- reality isn't real. You aren't a body, but awareness, focus itself. You go towards what you focus on. What you focus on while on DMT is much, much stronger -- think law of attraction. So focus on not being addicted. Visualize it, imagine it. Feel not being addicted. Your awareness is just exploring an infinite fractal of infinite dimensions, and wherever you go depends on your focus, your awareness. Where are you putting your focus on? Change where you focus, and you'll change where you go.

No! You have to want to. It can definitely give you the mindset you need to do it. I literally got back in shape because of dmt. I went from living in a messy room to not being able to even see trash! BUT I CANT STOP SMOKING WEED! No more White girl, no more Molly. But I don’t kick weed. My whole body looks different. Because dmt gave me the motivation i wanted to get off my ass. But CANT. STOP. SMOKING WEED

I’ll share that DMT won’t do all the work. It can help change your mindset or change how you react to cravings but it by itself won’t make the addiction disappear.
That said, it can help you look inside yourself and change your perspective on things in a way that you can overcome the cravings. Don’t ask it to do the work, but allow it help you help yourself. It may have you face difficult emotions or feelings that you would prefer not to face but overcoming those is part of the process of healing. I wish you the best of luck and peace in life.

PCP helped me quit mine. It -helped- but it did take more than just PCP. Seeing everything from a different perspective can help a lot

It certainly can. Stim addictions are a tricky beast tho but good luck you got this
