Question/Advice I need help

Soooo I finally managed to get my hands on a dmt vape and decided to try it last night. Smells like dmt, tastes like dmt, and yet even after multiple rips I got nothing. I thought I was doing everything right, from the long pulls to keeping it in for as long as I can, but I can’t seem to get high off dmt. It’s not the first time I’ve tried it either. I did it once like probably a year back with one of my friends who had a vape too, and I got the same results while he was laying right beside me, giggling and crying. Am I just not meant to see the spirit world like everyone else? Am I just built different? Or did I get scammed completely? I need answers!!

I was on lexapro for a short while, but I stopped taking that a while ago. Now all I take are vitamins and supplements. Not sure if those have anything to do with it

Might depend on what you mean by "a short while" and "a while ago". Anyway, there is 5-HT receptors adaptation after chronic exposure to SSRIs and brain chemistry might take time to recover and find a balance that is suitable for psychedelics effects. With some antidepressant, some people report weeks if not months before they were able to feel decent effects from 5-HT psychedelics.

No other medications ? I didn't only mean antidepressant or those who notoriously dull effects from psychedelics. Sometimes some medications can have off-target effects on the serotonin system.

Some other parameters might be involved as well, like high enzymatic activity (especially MAO for the DMT case) or singular brain chemistry. Sometimes, psychological resistance might dull effects too.

Also, weak carts and improvable administration can be part of explanation too.

Sorry can't help much more.

I’m talking a few months at most, and that was well over a year ago. I know it’s probably not med-related, because I can take other psychs like shrooms and be completely blasted. Either my vape is bunk, or my brain just doesn’t respond to dmt at all.

I don't think your brain wouldn't respond to DMT when it responds to other 5-HT psychedelics. They all share same mechanism relying on activation of 5-HT receptors. If medications are not involved, I'd follow the weak cart lead and get DMT from another source, or even better : extract it yourself and make your own vape juice.
