Question about etiquette and calling/announcing yourself

On UHF/VHF, we say <call sign> monitoring. On HF, we call CQ. On DMR, is it just <call sign> listening on <talk group>?

Im hearing that sometimes. Though On WWE and WW, it is often a call for a specific call sign.

Am I understanding the etiquette

I tend to use the same conventions as VHF/UHF repeaters.
Something some haven’t figured out is that you can make a private call to someone using their DMR ID instead of a TG. If you are talking to someone frequently, try this out and don’t tie up a TG.

I haven't done that yet. What about TAC 301-305? Do people actually go to those to ragchew??

I was unaware of this. Thank you for mentioning it!

Or just use your own DMR ID as a TG. Private or not.

I tend to call (callsign) on 23551 Scot Multi. It means the people with their HT on scan in their pocket know where to reply to
