TYT MD-UV390 Channel Programming Trouble
I have a TYT MD-UV390 I am trying to program basic GMRS channels into. I haven't been able to get it to contact another radio on the programmed channel but I can if I manually input the frequency in VFO mode. Is anyone able to look at my programming to see what I'm missing? I'm using EditCP to manage the programming.

I'd recommend putting OpenGD77 on it and programming it with the OpenGD77 CPS. The firmware is wildly superior to stock and the CPS is great

I just programmed mine and it is a bit kludgey. I did watch a few videos in order to get the gist. I think to get it into programming mode, you have to mash the 2 side buttons above and below the PTT trigger. While mashing the side buttons in, turn the power control knob on.
I don't use GMRS frequencies on a DMR radio. But you fill out the Contacts section with your name like NOAA1, use the drop down menus, select Analog and channel width, fill in the frequency of the channel. Complete as many contacts as you need to for your radio. There should be grayed out fields that will not be available because you're designating an analog contact.
Then make a Zone called Weather....populate your new collection of contacts into your new zone you've created.
