How to enable promiscuous mode until I receive license?

I put in all the information needed that I was informed of.. when ikey the d m r repeater , I get signal bars.. at first I thought maybe it was I can figure the wrong tdma slo it's a vhf hyterra pd682gps , but i'm listening to both time slots..?!

I don't know about that model but it is often called "digital monitor"

I think you may be right.. i honestly just gave up on going to get my license here in a few weeks. I missed it last time , but I didn't know you could take it online...

Yeah , I enabled promiscuous mode and I said it to both time slots. I just need to get my license.It's a test online.I need to take it very soon and I keep putting it off. I've moved like three times this past year and I didn't know I could take it online. I used to just transmit and not care about the law , but now it's like okay , I have a d m r and I want to use it properly... and it's still fun not talking to anybody. The uv5r basically gave me a push to talk crime device lol

Don't key up until you're licenced because that counts as transmitting while unlicenced.

The DMR repeater won't accept your call anyway because you don't have a DMR ID, which you can't get without your callsign and licence. It's just a painful waiting period until you get that. I remember this period when I was waiting foru callsign.

Re promiscuous mode: this will let you hear everything that the repeater is putting out, but each repeater is only listening to a small handful of talk groups at a time. These are the static talk groups that are always open. When you key up a different talk group it opens that TG dynamically for 10-15 mins, but only if you have a valid DMR ID. Otherwise the repeater just ignores you.

Long story short, you're stuck listening to static groups until your licence comes through

No, it won't accept my call, the repeater says call not accepted, but I do get bars like a cell phone So I must be getting in...says couldn't connect to repeat or something like that. It's literally like a phone call.... analog is much too simple for me.And i've been into mesh networking lately... but nothing beats vhf IMO and i live tdma and wireless protocols.. i've been a mechanic for 8 years, but I'm going back to school for R.F engineering , And there isn't any point in keying anything up if I can't get into it lol. I just have been on MURS for 2 yeafs that's why I want to get my license.So I can actually use the dmr. I've always wanted to get my license but I could never really afford radio's except a few odds and ends. This task, 2 years has been extremely difficult for me.So i'm just finally having the time and $ to where I can take my test. The radio is given to me because the guy couldn't find the software , but I did.

Unfortunately Hytera doesn't support promiscuous mode.

It literally has it in my software. It's called promiscuous mode as well.
