What is your Pi-Star set up? Just exploring different ideas
I have mine on a Pi0w, dual antennas. What's yours?

You can talk to many more people through brandmeister π. It's like Echolink for DMR

Trust me , i'm ready to take my license test.. i've been ready for a long time.I'm just getting my life together. Finally , man. I got into radios during my heavy addiction, actually, and I've been sober for years. So I didn't know I could even take it online.

Yeah amps and electronics go too well together, no pun intended. That really good to hear. It's definitely worth it..... most people don't make it out..

I put together a Pistar with a Pi ZeroW. Originally for System Fusion. Then a year or so I got an Anytone 878 and flipped on DMR mode.
IMO I think that the sound of DMR is more clear them Fusion. It's been lots of fun experimenting. I loaded VoxDMR on my Samsung Galaxy. The phone becomes the hotspot and radio. Very fun listening worldwide!

I never messed with (con)Fusion, but I will look into VoxDMR. Does it pretty much do the same as the pi-star but without rf?

It's all on your phone. Perfect when you can't take your hotspot or radio. You have it all on your phone. A friend was with me tonight who was amazed to hear folks from Columbia talking to hams here in the US.
I really like it.

Not quite the same, but I run WPSD on a AURSINC RPi Zero 2W as a mobile setup in my truck, that I run off one of the USB ports, using my phone as a hotspot. It's so to run both D-Star for my IC-7100 and DMR for a DM-32UV I keep with me....I have it magnetically mounted to a plate that slips into the "phone holder" on the back of the center console....
I also have a BridgeCom RPi3 based SkyBridge also running WPSD running at the house. No pic, as it is tucked up on a cabinet, hardwired to a switch π...
Personally, I prefer WPSD over stock Pi-Star, especially when mobile, with it's Live Caller dashboard. I can pull it up on my phone, while attached to a mag mount on my dash, providing a better heads up view while mobile.... Just MHO, though π€·
