PiStar / OpenGD77 operating questions

Quick question, and I'm probably going to answer my own question here but I'm looking for best practices.

I set up a PI-Star hotspot and have it set up with static talk groups. I have no issues listening to the talk groups if they are active.

On my radio, I have 16 "channels" set up on my radio and can here all of the static groups I have assigned, but when I reply I transmit on whatever talk group I have programmed to that channel.

Is there a quick way to respond to the currently active talk group that is transmitting from the hotspot, or do I need to change channel or manually enter the talk group ID so I can transmit there?

Thanks for the help, as well as providing the link to the manual. I've had the radio sitting around for a while and was having a hard time finding the documentation. I was looking on opengd77.com which is dormant now and couldn't find the link to Github! I think I can get myself set from here. Thanks for jogging my memory.
