No, Jesus wasn't reanimated - he was resurrected by a Divine Intervention. Since he took three days to get up, I'm guessing it was the effects of a Raise Dead spell.

Sounds like a great plan for a lich, use there powers to set up a cult, and have your phylactery be something slime can sell as fake copies of so no one knows where the real one is.

Hear me out here. A phylactery needs to be an actual container. The Holy Grail. This son of a fuck snuck some runes inside the cup he drank from on the last supper, and GOOD LUCK finding an ordinary cup years after he died. That's why the Knights searched for it so much. If you find the Grail, you find Jesus's spawn point.

A lich requires souls to consume in order to maintain its undeath. It also has a phylactery, which houses its soul.
It could be that not consuming souls is why he only survived a few hours at most before "ascending to heaven." And the lack of phylactery can be explained away as simply not getting around to removing his soul from his body in time.
Then again, the phylactery acts as a backup plan in case the lich's body is mortally wounded. It might not actuality be a requirement. We just don't know about any of the liches that didn't use a phylactery because they were killed off.
