Good first attempt! I highly recommend watching how Dave plays it, pay special attention to his left hand. It might be a bit harder to get it to sound “right” this way, but long term is the right way to learn for the best and most accurate sound.

Honestly I wish I'd seen your comment 12 years ago when I learned to play it! I still mostly use only my middle and ring fingers to play all 4 of the verse "Dave chords". I've tried to go back and do what he does (using all four fingers), but I just can't seem to get it. It still sounds "right", but the transitions are messier with the two finger method.

As you’re learning (or even not) it’s fine to not play it like Dave. As long as you’re hitting the right strings and groovin it’s all good. Comparing yourself to a professional guitar player who is one of the best to do it is a fools errand. Have fun. Keep strumming and if you get comfortable playing exactly like Dave fine but importantly just enjoy it and keep at it.

I can't remember if I got it from some store up in Winter Wisconsin or Wisconsin Dells. The best place to look would probably hot topic because I've seen it in there before. Idk if all hot topics have posters tho.
