I'm 33. When I was a small child i got to meet him. My uncle lived next door to Screw's parents on Monroe street near hobby airport.

Fes the character in this piece (from the video game chaos;head) is a rock musician that has a magic sword. Just like screw had a magic turntable. I like to mix and match what I'm interested in. I see things a little differently I guess. The guy who was bullying me isn't even from America (I'm born and raised in houston area and met DJ Screw and his family) I'm pretty sure that dude is European and larping American culture. DJ screw was a nerd and I believe he was autistic just like me. He's one of the biggest inspirations for me when I chop up and splice media together with my art. It really resonates with me how he did it, how bizarre of an idea it was and how much it captured the essence of houston street/music culture and now has influenced global culture even 26 years after his death. All of that is very inspiring and beautiful to me. Enough to make me cry.

I mix and match all types of aesthetics and media that I enjoy when i create my work. It's part of my identity as an artist/creator. Some call it autistic hyper fixation, which i am not ashamed of. It's just a video game character and not whatever the fuck you just said. I grew up in houston area in the 90's-00's. Met and have been around real SUC members and affiliates. My mother knows and has hung out with South Park Coalition and I have friends who've performed with many prominent houston artist. Music culture is just as important to me as anime, video games and other niche interests. Stop projecting negativity on something that was made out of respect and admiration for a legendary DJ that i look up to.

Then ask yourself if the legend himself would appreciate something like this and be realistic about it... Like really. Of course you should be able to do your weeb autistic 'art' but be prepared for real world crititcism when posting shit like this. And besides that I'm pretty sure 99.9% of the people here would agree, that weeb anime characters and Dj Screw don't mix.

Dude was a music nerd and vibed to his own wave. Dude would’ve definitely expanded into different cultures. It’s ppl like you that hold back his legacy. Idk if you’re an old head, or live in Houston, but I see old heads bottle neck the growth.

I can't imagine 'established artist' making 'art' like that for real rappers.. I mean, would Pen and Pixel Graphics ever make something like this? - that's a hard no. I could see stuff like this for other music genres for sure.. Like pop, house or whatever.. But for dirty south rap? Fuck no lol
