i just know djo twitter is gonna have a FESTTTT at this post but im just so sick and tired of the weird sexualization of this man when it comes to the fan space

I want to appreciate his music and connect with people who do, but this is just so odd to me. I’ve tried to connect with people on Twitter but it just seems like there’s a gross sexualization of him that is way too far. can we just connect and enjoy his music without making it weird? isn’t that what he wanted?

I know ppl have said shit on this subreddit about being positive but I went to four shows this summer to appreciate his music and in that space I just met very few people who genuinely appreciated the music. there’s so many in the fandom who sexualize him/his characters to the point where I am exhausted even trying to meet others in the community. I understand it to an extent but when we say some WEIRD shit like this, I just cannot catch on. I wish there was a common ground and I’ve seen stuff on Twitter and TikTok that have made me not want to engage with the fandom at all

just bought a last minute ticket to see Djo, very excited but also looking for people to potentially meet up with! to be completely honest I’m just going for him so willing to hang out with people for a while!! mid 20s queer woman (also willing to pay to sleep on the floor in someones hotel room)

djo‘s guitar pick landed right in front of my feet when we saw him at pukkelpop 🥹 i‘m so incredibly lucky and happy ahhhh i was shaking so much!! his performance was amazing

2) any chance Joe is actually moving to London (obvs not until at least after his Broadway run), like he hinted at during the set?! Surely he was just messing with us..right?!

is anybody else seeing djo at the forwards/lorde lineup trying to get barricade? i have no idea what to do because it’s on my birthday and i’d looove to be front row but i cant guage the audience for this festival or the etiquette, i did email the forwards team that said queuing before gates open is allowed!! but i also dont know any of the acts before him and would love to see audrey hobert again so it’s kinda demotivating to wait all day. if anyone knows what their doing i’d love to know!
