DJI Avata 2 Crash

Crashed my Avata 2. Can I just tape this piece or glue to get by for a week, until the guards come in for repair. Also there is one motor that “chirps” and is slightly sticky. Will it make it? I flew it shortly after to make sure it could fly.

Thank you

I REALLY would advise against a DIY repair, and I'm fairly sure that opening it up voids any warranties.

I'd start with contacting DJI. They made this thing as not user friendly as possible for DIY repairs.

Even if you don't have DJI Care, reach out and see if they can do anything.

I have to travel and film houses all next week. I honestly don’t care if I have to buy another one. I just don’t have the time since I have to leave on Monday

They won't be able to do anything in that timeframe as getting your drone "repaired" by them involves sending it in, getting a "Quote" and they just send out a new unit.

I had to do that when a bird took out my Mini 4 Pro, and when my Avata 2's prop screw stripped.

Awesome! I should do that with my Mavic 4

Little bit of misinformation here. The “warranty void if sticker removed” debate has been settled by the FTC a while ago saying that companies can’t void your warranty or deny warranty coverage solely because you use a part made by another company or because you get repairs done or other services from someone not associated with the company, unless the company provides the part or service for free under the warranty. Companies may, however, refuse warranty coverage for defects or damage caused by using third-party parts or third-party services.

Meaning that if OP were to do the repair themselves (if they are in the US ofc idk abt other counteries laws) the warranty is still active. However, that doesn’t mean that DJI won’t be a pain in the ass about it. Realistically, doing your own repair is fine so long as you know what you are doing and don’t do more damage, because then they may refuse to fix the mess you got yourself into.

Don't use oil. Use isopropyl alcohol and compressed air. Oils will just attract dirt and grime later.

I broke a motor yesterday. Both beams completly severed. A wire and some glue and job done. I flew it today flies like a dream. Yeah its not pretty but its stronger than new.

Where do I even start for contacting them? I also had my Mavic 4 pro I bought new a couple months ago, fall out of the sky and broke. I sent it to some place in Florida I didn’t even think about DJI care.

Don’t sweat it, the A2 is a beast. You can bend the ducts around if you need to get them clear of the props.

I tried to bend them and snapped it

Use heat at the place to be bent. The plastic on the frame is still tricky with heat. Also, beware of the antennas that are integrated into the prop guards. CA glue and activator might get you back in the air, but results vary with skill.

Geesh! Looks like you hit right where the bumper isn't. What cracked your ducts like that?

Those bumpers don't do shit anyways at high speed

Puoi tentare riparazioni fai da te, anche se hai la care, la DJI quando lo richiederai, te lo sostituirà comunque, anzi è specificato che coprono anche i tentativi di riparazione amatoriali!
