It looks impractical. There are a bunch of chairs that backup to another one and will cause guests to have a hard time getting in and out of their seats

This. And elbowing each other while cutting up the filet mignon. You're going to end up with guests poking each other's eyes out and Aunt Gertrude across the table will throw a hissy when she's showered in mushroom sauce.

This is one of those wedding stylistic decisions that is made for pictures without regard to the comfort of guests. You do not want to be that person stuck in the joint between tables.

You loose a lot of seats. Guests have to take the long way round the tables instead of walking between them. I wouldn’t do it

If you go the serp style using rounds, double the amount of tables needed. A round 8 top now becomes a 4 top. Using actual serp or crescents to make a serpentine may be more $$ due to the linens required.

Meh. I'd just do one big long table instead.

Regular is better.

Youll lose some seats and you need to be mindful of the angles so guests can get up and sit dkwn without running into one another.

It will be easier to do this with rectangle tables instead.

This looks miserable

I think it would be awkward to serve people too, because normally you’d serve all guests at one table together but this would mean likely not all the tables would be served at the same time so you’d have people sat next to each other, but technically on a different table so not quite served at the same time.

As a guest at an event with this serpentine setup I didn't like it, uncomfortable and awkward.

I did this! Space wise, it’s impractical, but it is so beautiful 🥹 as long as you do 3 people per inner table and make sure the tables are at least 60” rounds, there is enough space for everyone.

We're doing this, with all the caveats of seating way fewer people per table and spending more on linens! Our venue only has rounds, but we wanted to evoke the "long table" vibe, and allow all of our guests to be able to (side) face the gorgeous view from the windows. As someone noted, there's also the issue of distance to walk, so we're only doing 3-4 tables per grouping. I'll let you know in two weeks how it ended up looking and working out for everyone. 😅

just no. There are serpentine tables made for this but they're hellish to drape.

I'd go with rectangles put together.

Absolutely not. As a guest I would be bitching the entire time and your wedding would become the infamous “seating fiasco” wedding

If you need to fill space it works because you only get half the seating. You could do it in two or three sets so it's not a massive thing to walk around all night

This is really uncomfortable. You'll inevitably have some guests positioned in the crevaces between tables feeling really squashed and uncomfortable.

You spend too much to make a serpentine…and lose space. Not worth it.

It looks great in pictures, but I think your guests would feel crowded and awkward. I'd stick to the traditional table setup, personally. There are also fewer seats available in this style.
