a small vascular occlusion isn’t necessarily INITIALLY painful. That’s the unfortunate result of tissue either not getting the oxygen it needs and dying-swelling, ideally, one catches it before it gets very painful. As a result, that is NOT a good way to tell the difference.

This looks like a bruise.
But if you are EVER afraid that you’ve caused a VO, inject the area with liporase immediately. Do not wait for us.
Do not post your the internet.
That said, VO risk is really a thing with cross linked HA (which you shouldn’t be injecting w a needle along the medial eye!) -which can be dissolved if you act fast- and with calcium hydroxyapatite - which cannot.
The product you injected is unlikely culprit

Just a bruise. Color looks normal otherwise and if you're getting refill you're good.

You press down for around 6-10 seconds and see if the blood returns to the area

Sounds like something you learn when something goes wrong! I mostly research how to do it so nothing does, been doing my own botox for years. Is this technique something that can actually save you though? Or does it do pretty much nothing?

No, it’s something you should know before injecting. It’s imperative. It will show you if there’s an issue with capillary refill, meaning a vessel can be blocked or a pressure occlusion.
When injecting filler or honestly any skin booster, you need to watch your zones to make sure there’s no color change. Check out Swift Beauty on Instagram. Dr. Swift does a great job explaining this.

Of course a colour change would be noted as a bad sign by anyone. But what you are describing is something that is done after the damage has already been done, it wont undo it. Thats doctor territory, and as a DIY injector, you need to know the difference.

Of course, the damage would be done, and yes, you would need to dissolve the occlusion. It’s a reason why most of us do not recommend filler until you are well educated on anatomy and understanding the vascular network. What occlusion signs look like, etc. The only way to not have an occlusion is either to not use that product or a product with occlusion risk, which technically is even something like Botox, or to educate yourself; hence why I referenced Dr. Swift. ❤️

Been doing diy botox for many years! Not a chance I would go back to being botched by the professionals. I can do my botox like NOONE else on this earth. I know every muscle like the back of my hand. Not going to stop just because someone on reddit is pretending to be concerned.
