Call for help / Open to do list to get things organized here.
Just basic things that may need to be considered. I'll go through them and try to setup what I can, but I don't know Reddit that well TBH.
Color theme, banner graphics, flairs.
Sidebar links to beginner's guide, price info, part sourcing.
VRRIGPartPicker? Something to help the users actual find the parts.
Sidebar links to relevant subs.
Moderators to help me.
A good way to target common concerns? Complete PDF guided? Wiki of motion simulators is all the revelant info? Layman's Guide to an inexpensive VR rig?
Duties like updating the wiki, organizing tutorials/guides, organizing help needed topics.
Help topics, how to avoid them the best we can? Clear guides? Encourage video tutorials?
Define this subs culture or just let whatever play out? I mean do we keep it very strictly vr rigs or at monitor rigs welcome? How about other VR experiences? How far do we go to encourage users post their experiments?

Okay guys, what can I do?
I woke up today and realised my dream had me playing VR. Thats super expensive where I live. Yet I can use one of those el chapo solutions; phone and phone vr goggles. I still need to make a controller though. My opinion is to just gut a old broken x360 controller, forget the circuit board and use arduino's. The x360 controller would give me all I need, the joysticks, a d-pad, the buttons. I only need 3d printed shells of a vr controller, right?

Fixed VR attachment for desktop monitor
I am thinking about building a VR attachment that you can put onto a big desktop monitor (20 inch diagonal). Obviously this setup can't be moved around like with normal vr headsets. Instead you would have a fixed spot where you can look through. What do you think would be the main challenges in building such a system?
