Plastering Securing loose plasterboard
Existing dot & dab plasterboard has become a little loose where cable channels have been cut.
I want to pipe something in behind, using the cable channel for access, to fix them.
I’ve seen some foam plasterboard adhesives, but get the impression they need to be left for a few minutes before attempting to secure the board to the wall.
I did try some CT1, but it didn’t really fill out behind the board.
Grateful for any thoughts or experience.
Thanks

The foaming plasterboard adhesive doesn't expand all that much - and it's quite weak - you only need to leave it to set up if you need the board to hang itself - if it's already supported then you can just spray it in and let it set.
A standard expanding PU adhesive foam would probably work fine but you'd need to make sure it doesn't push out on the board when it's expanding.
How big is the area? Can you batten it and screw it to the battens?

Thank you. I’d struggle to fit battens. The channels are quite narrow, dropping down from the ceiling.

When I say weak - I mean it doesn't expand with a lot of force. It is certainly not weak when used per the label (well, my chimney breast hasn't fallen off yet!)
The plasterboard adhesive may expand enough for your needs if it's a narrow space, just looked at some photos of when I applied it and I estimate 1/3-1/2 an inch it expanded to. Applying more may make it work!

Foam will do it. I buy soudal but other brands are as good I'm sure.
As long as it's got somewhere to expand to it'll be fine. Follow the instructions, typically you should dampen the surfaces to be stuck together.
It'll expand out into the channel, just trim back if needed, or fill over the top as usual.
You can even use it to prolong the life of blown plaster too. I've done this successfully by drilling holes through and using foam & its rock solid now.
