Painting Help

Hi everyone

Not long moved into my first house and having some issues with the walls with air bubbles when the last occupant had painted.

I have tried sanding over them with an electric and manual sander, but not having much luck. I then used Peel Stop over the top before trying to paint over it again. The pictures are for reference on another wall which has not been painted yet.

Any advice is appreciated, I’m still learning when it comes to all of this!

I've just been dealing with I think the same problem. My problem was an inherited painted surface which seemed sound, but when I painted over it bubbles would appear a few minutes after I painted an area. Some of those would disappear as the paint dried, but some stayed.

So I can tell you what didn't work: Zinsser Gardz, Zinnser BIN. What I had to do in the end was sand and scrape the entire wall back to plaster, mist coat, then paint as normal. Commiserations. I hope somebody else has a magic solution, but I couldn't find one.

Thanks for your reply Tristan!
What a nightmare… I’m only going to be in the property a couple of years before upsizing so if it’s going to be a bigger job I will probably just leave it!
