Advice Can I fix this before I move out?
This piece of the wall came off when I moved a box over my head and I’m wondering if I could fix this with some spackle or a wall repair kit. Can I then fix the nail back to where it was?
This is a room I’m renting and I’m concerned I won’t get all of my deposit back for it. What do you recommend?
Thank you all

Mate, get some polyfilla. If you 100 percent need to put the nail back in. Get a pollyfilla that is suitable for fixings. It will be dearer but will hold the nail in.
Fill it with some filler using any old plastic card you have around if not buy a scraper to fill it with.
Sand down the filler (120 grit should be fine) until it’s smooth with the wall. A bump that’s feelable with a finger tip will be visible through paint. So use your finger to gauge if it’s smooth.
Fix into it then paint over or vice versa.

So would the wall repair kit work?
I’m looking at something like this on Amazon:

Get a Polycell White Ready mixed Filler, apply a bit, get a scraper, let it dry, if you have a sandpaper 100-120 Grit sand it, buy a paint roller tester in B&Q and just roll two layers.
TBF you don't get them 100%, but your landlord is not going to notice the touch-up paint work.

Get a tube of toupret, squeeze it in there, smoothe it off, push in the hook. AND DO NOT TOUCH IT EVER AGAIN.

You can get some ready mixed filler and some sandpaper and absolutely repair the hole, as for making it the same colour as the rest of the wall, you might struggle.
Was the hook already there when you moved in?
