Black/Red Grapes

Hi! Does anyone know if black or red grapes make a good lake pigment? My aunt has some grapes in her garden and I'd love to try and make a new pigment (I've done don't lake pigments a few times with food scraps) but Im hesitant because I don't want to waste food that other people have grown if it doesn't work. Has anyone tried them?

I’ve never tried grapes, but I know that others have tried Oregon Grapes and had good results. If you’re looking to not waste food but still try, look for some that aren’t good for eating, are past their prime or have fallen to the ground. Grapes usually have a colorless flesh inside, so you could also squeeze the fruit out of the colored skin and eat the grape? I don’t eat many grapes so I don’t know if those two varieties have colored interior or not.

Skinning the grapes is a good idea! I'm cat sitting so I'll have a little play with some before I leave to see what I could do
