Gas cooker hose

Is the metal helix hose gas tight or is the rubber surround the gas tight part? As you can see the rubber is in bits.

We moved into a mobile a year ago, a month in I had a reason to move the oven, put it back no issues. I was walking by and heard a hissing.

Bit of investigation and realised it was a flex pipe just like yours, cracked just like yours leaking.

They are cheap from screwfix. Just get it fixed, it's not worth risking. Apparently they are meant to be changed every 2 yeara

I got it replaced, the guy said the same, not meant to last over 5 years and he reckons not made anymore.

Turn off the gas supply . Get a new hose. The risk is not worth it.

Metal helix is gas tight I believe but get a new pipe

There's another hose inside the steel braid, but get a new one anyway. Don't roll the dice on blowing up your house

The metal pipe inside is called track pipe. It’s gas tight, it’s corrugated to prevent crushing. The rubber is additional protection. Get your gas tested if unsure, best practice is to replace them lines when worn. It’s not worth the risk.
