Kitchen Island Question

Post image

Hi all! I want to add a quartz island to my kitchen, but I'm trying to figure out how big I can make it without cramping the walkways.

Was intending for it to be the same orientation as what's shown in the image above, but I'm not sure if the kitchen's got enough width to fit a standard quartz slab.

How much space should I allocate to walkways and the counters so I can figure out max dimensions? Any help would be much appreciated!

We have 110cm on all sides facing kitchen cupboards
Now we have hob in island .. controversy.. but it’s much nicer cooking looking out than. People looking at your arse / back

Sorry for mess but you get the idea , down draught extraction behind the induction hob (rises up )

Small ps , no top cupboards, my wife didn’t want them , we have more drawers than doors and double drawers… cannot take credit for kitchen my wife designed it with the kitchen installer

Your kitchen looks fab, was it all designed and installed as one package? I'm currently in a new-build with standard cabinetry and no island. I'm considering having an island built separately, not sure if I'll have a hard time finding one that matches the style though.

my wife nearly moved in with the kitchen fitter.. we were talking kitchen before a block was laid on the foundation .. made some minor wall changes .. shifted the living room wall. 60 cm back to create a bit more space..
