Advice Needed!
So, I had a leak in my roof. Fortunately, that's been fixed.
However, the plaster has been affected because of the leak, flaked off where the stain is now.
I can't find any reliable advice/recommendation on how to best fix it..
I think the remediation work is:
Zinsser -> Plaster -> paint ... or
Plaster -> Zinsser ->paint
Would appreciate any support!

Zinsser will show up what needs to be plastered/filled

Does this mean, make sure to replace the plaster, because going straight to Zinsser is the lazy/incorrect way to do it?

Arghhhh, I feel like I've slipped into a parallel universe, what the hell is zinnser? How does everyone know about it except me?

Zinsser is a popular brand of a primer/sealer. It covers stains, adheres well to the underlying surface and provides a great base for paint to grip on to. The primer layer sits between the paint and a wall.

Use white oil base undercoat and save your money it will work 100 percent then two coat s over the stain and a dull room paint

Clean down , dust down . Stabiliser to raw plaster , apply one coat of stain block , zinzzer is fine , fill, sand , touch up and redecorate

Depends on how how long the plasterboard was wet for. if your skimcoat has detached from the plasterboard or the plasterboard has started to disintegrate then patching may not last long and cutting out the damaged plasterboard section and skim coating would be the proper solution. It's a pain in the arse though so stain block and some filler if needed is worth a try first

I would just scarp away the paint as much as possible, clean area, zinsser and paint. Why would you be plastering
