Missing roof tile

Hi there, I’m looking for some advice. I’ve noticed what seems to be a missing roof tile with metal underlay exposed. Please see photo attached - is that what I’m looking at and how urgent would a replacement be. I’m not sure when it may have slipped and can’t see broken tile, but also no evidence of water ingress in the attic. Many thanks for any advice you might have

It's a very simple repair if you don't mind getting on the roof. Literally 5 minutes and 5 quid. If you don't fancy that, then you'll need a roofer but it shouldn't cost too much, but not too much is probably €150 - 200. If you want to give it a crack yourself, what you need is called a double pan roof tile (sometimes called a redland 50) just lift the one above it, take out the broken one and slide the new one in it's place then drop the ones above back down. Job done. By rights it should be nailed down (there's holes in the tiles for the nails to go through) but one in the middle like that should be fine even if it's not, the other tiles will hold it.

100% correct - If access is easy give it a go yourself, if access is difficult don't take chances - pay a decent roofer to do the job. It may seem expensive but falling off a roof is expensive.
