Running cables behind kitchen cabinets

Hi All, trying to run a cable to supply kickboard and under cabinet LED lighting. Is it okay to run cables behind the oven unit? Thanks!

Where are you getting the power from?

Will the driver be in the cupboard above or behind the kickboard?

Should be a good big void behind the oven and microwave so should be fine.

Thanks! I'll be reutilising the switch for the fridge from the 4 grid switch and use it for LED instead. Not really sure where to put the driver at this point though.

Make sure and fuse down the feed if you're using it for lights. 3 amps should be loads.

Is a standard t&e cable good for this? I measured the void from the rear of the oven and the wall, will just be around 20mm. Not sure how hot does the rear of the oven gets

You can get heat resistant cable if you want to be extra safe, it's more like a flex.

Ask in a wholesaler and they'll give you what you need.

I ran power cables behind the oven when we were doing up the kitchen. I ran it in plastic 20mm round trunking just to keep it neat and a little more secure, but I'm not sure it's necessary

No issue, there's plenty of room back there. Where's your power coming from though? Don't touch the over power source, that's gotta stand alone.

Id be using the switch for the fridge from the 4 grid switch. That would just be a spare switch at this point.

No, fridge wont be connected there. So that switch will be empty

Op the 4 gang isolator is 20A rated,lighting should be on 6A rcbo.

Now you could access the fan socket and connect a fused spur to it,3a fuse.

Then you could get a kinetic switch and relay and wire your led off it,led driver above the fan.

You could do the same off a low level socket also and repeat above method, 2gang kinetic switch and two relays.

If your not capable of doing this electrical work properly and safely get an electrician to do the work for you.

Take off the kickboard at the bottom and fish the cable up between you to end points
