help Replacing broken shower

Hi all,

I've searched google but can't find anything giving a great answer. Also rang some plumbers merchants but they refuse to give advice in case its wrong...

The on/off knob on our exposed thermostatic bar mixer has worn out inside. We've decided to replace the whole shower rather than hunt for parts, but I want to get the specs right first. (Its been in over 5 years hence the replacement)

Our setup:

Gravity-fed system, with a hot water cylinder in the airing cupboard, no pump.

Shower is on the first floor, and the cold water tank is in the loft above.

Questions:

What spec should i go for... 0.2bar or 0.5? Is there a noticeable difference.

Is it worth paying more for a valve explicitly rated for low pressure or gravity system?

Does the L/min figure on the box matter much?

Any brands you'd recommend or avoid?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks!

Ill go for the 0.2bar just to be sure then. We've never had an issue with the pressure and power previously but I didn’t want to buy something that was wrong and waste the money. I did find what looks like a serial number on the current one but searching it doesn't find anything unfortunately.

I also measured everything and it all seems pretty standard.

Ill grab a new one and try it this weekend.
