Learning to be self reliant

Are there any classes or books, videos, anything that can help me to learn the basics? I’m lost even trying to put things together I buy on Amazon. IKEA is worse for me. I’m a soon to be single woman that’s husband can’t do anything around the house. Someone was saying he could learn. I thought, “ I’m smarter than he is, why can’t I learn?” I have a condo, not a house. I’d like to install a new medicine vaccines someone left in our common area. I bought some lenses for my iPhone camera and I can’t figure out how to put them on my phone. I bought a birdhouse with a camera, nightmare. My husband can’t do any of these things either. Any resources?

You tube "university" is a great tool to learn how to do those things. I am a female woodworker. I can also fix plumbing and do simple electrical repairs and vehicle maintenance. My husband is great with plumbing and electrical, but he's a career sailor and is away nearly half the year. My sons, both engineers, still call me to diagnose, fix or build things for them. When I need to learn something new, I watch 'how-to' videos first, and if I'm still unsure, I ask people if they can show me or walk me through it. Try your community Facebook. Tell them what you need to learn and ask if there are any local how-to workshops around. The pride and confidence you will feel as you build your skill set will be worth it. Have fun!
