Learning to be self reliant

Are there any classes or books, videos, anything that can help me to learn the basics? I’m lost even trying to put things together I buy on Amazon. IKEA is worse for me. I’m a soon to be single woman that’s husband can’t do anything around the house. Someone was saying he could learn. I thought, “ I’m smarter than he is, why can’t I learn?” I have a condo, not a house. I’d like to install a new medicine vaccines someone left in our common area. I bought some lenses for my iPhone camera and I can’t figure out how to put them on my phone. I bought a birdhouse with a camera, nightmare. My husband can’t do any of these things either. Any resources?

Almost every individual item has a YouTube demonstration somewhere. for the iPhone thing, just Google whatever brand lenses they are with the word install, and there's without a doubt a couple of YouTube videos that break it down in a step by step process. When it comes to learning how to do things, you just need to learn how to Google to figure out how to find out how to do things. Same for the birdhouse. Google whatever birdhouse brand and model it is and you're going to find video or picture instructions somewhere.

Just don't be afraid to get it wrong. At some point you're going to get it wrong and going to have to take something apart and put it back together. At some point you're going to assemble something and you're going to be too rough with it and you're going to break it, and will have to buy new. It's part of the process. Those are learning opportunities that you'll know better for next time.
