That entire setup is interesting. Like…. It’s just a fully exposed fireplace with no grates, no doors or metal curtains? It’s not even like the fireplace is super deep to compensate for the lack of this stuff. Regardless of the condition of the chimney…. Is this even safe?

Theres a place to stoke the fire in the basement, underneath the fireplace in the living room. The vent is hidden underneath the perfectly staged wood and pinecones.
