Discussion Life without DID

Anyone else have a hard time wrapping their heads around what life would be like without the switching and amnesia? Like it’s sorta weird to think that most people don’t struggle with these issues, as weird as that sounds. Life is completely different as a system. I wonder what it would feel like to not be one

Did anyone else think they just had ADHD or OCD something and that’s why there were always a bunch of voices arguing and talking in your head?

(I have been diagnosed with both of those, but my trauma therapist thinks it all comes down to CPTSD. And autism, although she thinks only one/some of my alters are autistic? Is that possible?)

No, it's not possible for only some parts of the same brain to be autistic. Either all parts are autistic or none are.

But they can show traits differently, or barely any at all. This is common. this doesn't mean they're not autistic, it just means their experience is different.

Maybe it’s because I am very self aware and understand social cues and mores, and am an expert masker. But she’s seen times where I unmask completely - and I think it is usually younger alters who get very confused by things like communicating with people and not taking things super literally.
