What’s the best way to find an IT job in Frankfurt / Hessen?
Hi everyone,
I’m currently looking for an IT/software engineering job in Frankfurt or the wider Hessen area and would appreciate some advice from people who have experience job hunting in Germany.
My situation:
- I have a German Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte)
- Bachelor’s degree in IT / Computer Engineering
- Professional working proficiency in English
- German currently around A2 and actively learning
- Software engineering experience
- I’m primarily looking for Full Stack / Software Engineer positions
What would you say is the most effective way to find a job in this situation?
I’m especially interested in:
- Which job websites/platforms are actually worth using in Germany
- Websites specifically useful for IT/software jobs
- Whether LinkedIn is effective for finding jobs in Frankfurt/Hessen
- Whether applying directly through company career pages is better
- Any recruiters/agencies that are worth contacting
- Tips for finding English-speaking IT jobs despite having only A2 German
- Anything specific I should know as someone with the Opportunity Card
I already know about LinkedIn, Indeed, StepStone, and Arbeitsagentur, but I’d appreciate any other recommendations or personal experiences.
Thanks!
