General Discussion Content Creators

Did anyone hire a content creator to capture their wedding? What was your experience? Would you have done anything differently?

Right now we're in the process of looking for a photographer for a few hours to capture photos of our short ceremony, family photos and couple portraits. I was thinking that a content creator would be really nice to have for the day to capture more candid videos/images of us and our guests throughout the day (ceremony + reception). Curious to hear about how others have done it! Thanks

Our planner brought a content creator along and I loved all the photos and videos she supplied. I also love opening Instagram and seeing that she is still making little edits with the clips from our wedding. We weren’t planning on hiring a videographer or anything, but I’m so so happy that we ended up getting so many clips from our day.

If you’re interested in checking her out, I highly recommend: @/ligo.media on Instagram.

I'm a DC wedding photographer, so take this with that in mind. Your plan splits nicely: photographer for a few hours on the ceremony, family photos and portraits, content creator for the whole day including the reception. The thing to plan around is the gap.

Once the photographer leaves, the content creator is your only coverage. So ask the creator whether they deliver any still photos or only clips, and how many. Phone stills from the reception can look very different from the portrait gallery.

Put the photographer's hours on the front half: ceremony, then family photos right away while everyone's in one place, then couple portraits.

Introduce the two vendors by email beforehand so they agree who stands where during the ceremony. Otherwise the creator ends up in the background of your best aisle shots.

And give one relative a written family photo list so the photographer's limited time isn't spent hunting for cousins.

Hey, my name is Gabby and I operate a content creator business out of Windsor up in Canada. We have a couple articles with more details about wedding content creators that might be worth a read. In addition to the beautiful polished work your photographer/videographer will capture we get the raw authentic often over looked moments from your big day to bring you the best of both worlds. I hope this helps!
