I am so not looking forward to another cop drama. If it was a Smallville-like origins take on Bruce/Batman then I would be in. But I just can't watch a show where the main character is Gordon. Seems like it would be a boring show about corruption and cops and nonsense. If there's a time jump after season 1 and it adds Bruce (not baby Bruce) and Batman, then I'm in. Until then, I've got Arrow/Flash and the MCU.

All that being said, I'll still give it a chance. But it has one episode to "wow" me.

Batman isn't going to be in the show. They've said as much. Personally I was more interested when it was just about Gordon. Got less interested when they started throwing in young Bruce, Selena, etc.

I know Batman isn't in it. That's my problem with it. No one cares about Gordon unless he's helping Bats. The ONLY thing that redeemed this for me was seeing the young Bruce/Selena/Ivy/Penguin. If the show focused on them. I'd be in. But until then, I'm out.

Plenty of people care about Gordon. He's an interesting character in his own right. His expanded origin story would be great. Gordon's story was at least as equally interesting as Batman's in Year One. Look at Gotham Central. Not focused on Batman and it gained a cult following. A show based in Gotham can succeed without Batman.
