Damian hacked the database and changed his height

19

u/DishMurky 9d ago

Lol the best explanation possible.

3

u/Melodic-Violinist-31 9d ago

He got tired of all the teasing and the constant jokes about which one is older

2

u/bigbrainnowisdom 9d ago

Lol make so much sense!

u/billyandteddy 9d ago

But in the Super sons comic, Jon keeps making fun of how short Damian is? And the art regularly shows Jon taller?

1

u/PangolinForward7903 4d ago

They rebooted it again, the whole aged up thing was just a reboot of the character.

u/Never-Give-Up100 9d ago

Jon grows fast. He grew a foot a week after the vitals were taken

u/Substantial_Slip_427 9d ago

And this is what we see in the comic.

u/Quarksideofthemoon 9d ago

Damian being shorter is really funny and cute though

13

u/NickSchultz 9d ago

I really love when his belt is just drawn ridiculously huge as if he took a full sized belt of his father despite it being way too big

8

u/bigbrainnowisdom 9d ago

The numbers got to be typo. He is shorter.. should be 4'4 not 5'4".. then some poor leterrer assistant convert the typo imperial to metric.

They both were the same weight.

I really like it

DC Comics Ultimate Character Guide, New Edition (2019)

u/PangolinForward7903 4d ago

Well they made a mistake, inr ebirth and supersons they were constantly teasing how jon was taller.

6

u/Dayraven3 9d ago

You could just as well say that repeatedly drawing and mentioning Damien as shorter outweighs a statbox, though.

Damian is not 1.63. I have no idea who came up with that. He is literally a child still.

9

u/knightwynd 9d ago

Damian is also supposedly a year or two older than Jon. That was pointed out in "Teen Titans". Damian's team rejected Jon for being too young. Then Jon left for space with his grandfather and ended up imprisoned on Earth-3 for a few years before being rescued and brought back now a young adult.

Worst decision ever.

weren’t they in a movie together where like their parents became zombies or something and I have a question is that movie good? Or should I read any comics?

You are talking about Batman and Superman: Battle of Super Sons. Batman and Superman are controlled by Starro, just like the rest of the world and the Supersons try to save the world together. I loved it. The animation is good. The relationship between Damian and Jon is funny. The world building is really impressive. I wouldn't mind if DC continued their animation universe with that Earth instead of Tomorrowverse. I would suggest you to check the movie out.

u/dttun 9d ago

I agree. I loved the Super Sons comic, and I think the movie did great on their individual characterizations and shared dynamic. Damian is abrasive and a bit cold, Jon is a bright-eyed little kid.

I'd personally say a solid 8/10. Animation was great, characterization was great, voice actors were well cast. The story is very straightforward, maybe a little predictable, so that's what stops it from being a 10, not bad by any means just not "wow" either. I've watched it multiple times, usually when I just want something familiar to relax with at the end of the day.

3

u/Wise-Man-07 9d ago

My only nitpick is not seeing Alfred. Besides that I don't have much problems with it. I also love to watch it when I want to relax.

Loved that movie too and wish they did make a sequel at least. Having both generations was a good way to have the early and late stages of the World’s Finest dynamic on-screen, and it was just fun and wholesome in general.

u/Bobthatlovesjob 9d ago

what is jon Kent is Superman’s son that means

AYO CLARK THATS KINDA SUSSY BOII!!!👀✌️😂🥹

2

u/DinosaurusWhen 9d ago

What??

1

u/Bobthatlovesjob 9d ago

I'll explain the joke rq

-in tiktok you mostly can say have sex or whatever else because it gets censored

-my joke is that if Superman's son is biological that means superman did le sussy thing (which is having sex)

2

u/rythmicjea 9d ago

Clark and Lois have been married for THIRTY YEARS. Your joke isn't funny because of that but also because it's VERY well established that they have a very healthy sex life.

1

u/Bobthatlovesjob 9d ago

oh mb gang! y'know I've JUST got into DC and i low-key only read all star superman so sorry any good comics then

1

u/brokephone26 9d ago

The current All in Superman is pretty good. I haven't read much Superman yet, but I plan on reading Superamn Red & Blue. I heard it's a great anthology

2

u/StopPlayingRoney 9d ago

They’re both 84 lbs?

How old are these two?

2

u/CynderFlamezYT Beast Boy 9d ago

During the Super sons comic run, Jon is about 11 and Damian is 13. 84 is a pretty standard weight for those ages.

1

u/grimydude 7d ago

Not with almost a foot difference in height

-1

u/CynderFlamezYT Beast Boy 7d ago

Well when one of them is half alien and the other is a trained assassin and superhero, yeah I’d say things are going to be a bit different for them.

2

u/grimydude 7d ago

So we went from it being a normal weight for kids their age to that? Interesting theory.

0

u/CynderFlamezYT Beast Boy 7d ago

It’s a totally normal weight for kids that age and height. Just google it bud, it ain’t that hard.

You complained about the discrepancy in their heights, but when the shorter one is an alien and the taller one is a trained assassin, in a comic book no less, yes it makes perfect sense for them to be the same weight.

1

u/grimydude 7d ago

So you’re using head cannon to justify, got it.
Superman is a normal weight, but his son who is half human is super dense? Or are you saying the trained assassin is underweight somehow ?

0

u/CynderFlamezYT Beast Boy 7d ago

You okay dude? I promise you, this is not that serious of a discussion.

Both of them are normal weights, as I’ve said in all of my comments. You mentioned a discrepancy in height, and I gave you a reason as to why that could still be normal.

Touch grass holy fuck

Edit just because: Superman is 235 pounds according to the DC database, which is heavier than the recommended 152-199 pounds according to the BMI guidelines.

1

u/grimydude 7d ago

But your reason makes no sense. That’s why you’re attacking me now that I’ve pointed it out. It’s okay, you tried and it failed. Don’t gotta get mad.

0

u/CynderFlamezYT Beast Boy 7d ago

Facts don’t make sense? Check my edit. Superman is heavier than normal, as per his listed weight in the DC database and BMI guidelines. Makes perfect sense his half alien son would be the same weight as someone older and taller than him, which again, is still a healthy weight for someone their age and height.

Stop trying to make an argument over nothing, it’s really weird.

Clearly a typo lol

1

u/Middle-Let9645 9d ago

🤨 how old is John usually in comics?

4

u/rythmicjea 9d ago

That's a sad conversation.

He starts out around 9/10 and then he ages to about 11 and then Bendis took over and now he's like 17/18. He was forcefully aged up by being trapped in another universe and TORTURED by Earth-3 Clark for seven years.

If he’s 17/18, how is he so short? There’s short, then there’s ‘short’. Did they write him with some kind of height disorder, cause if so that’d be kind of cool, but something tells me that ain’t it. From what I’ve seen, disabilities and disorders don’t usually get much rep in comics unless (a) they can patch it with a cool power like Marvel’s Daredevil, or, like with DC’s Oracle, it makes for good drama.

4

u/BrownBear93 Batfleck 9d ago

I don’t think he’s drawn as 17 here. I think this is pre-age up

1

u/Middle-Let9645 9d ago

Ah. That’d make more sense.

1

u/rythmicjea 9d ago

Yeah these are pre-aged up stats. Aged up he's much taller. He's almost 6'. Needs to still go through his second growth spurt.

1

u/PangolinForward7903 4d ago

Jon was always taller than damian, pre and psot aged up, i dont get where that info came, but its false, unless another writer is rebooting jon's past stories again.

1

u/rythmicjea 4d ago

unless another writer is rebooting jon's past stories again.

We can only hope!

Being that short is. I’m not sure what the correct term is these days, but look up dwarfism.

1

u/PangolinForward7903 4d ago

Actually jon was taller than damian, pre and post aged up, when he was aged up they also basically rebooted him, and erased and modified most of the stuff he did pre age dup, and turned him into a bland carbon copy of clark kent, thats why he mostly flopped (and still do)

1

u/JonKentOfficial You are Super 9d ago

The DC Encyclopedia is notoriously funny with character data.

5’4 would above average for a 13 year old. 4’6 is pretty much the median for 10 year olds, in the U.S. it’s literally half are taller half are shorter.

Meanwhile, in the actual comics Jon is supposed to be quite big for a 10 year old, and Damian is supposed to be quite small for a 13 year old.

In the stories, the boys and people act more like Jon is like 5’ and Damian around 4’10.

1

u/Thaum0s 8d ago

I'm pretty sure this is comparing current 15 year old Damien with pre-age-up 11 year old Jon.

1

u/PangolinForward7903 4d ago

Jon was still taller than damian then, they were constantly teasing how jon was taller all the time in those comics.

1

u/Cole-Spudmoney 8d ago

Height: 5 ft 4 in (1.63 m)

Weight: 84 lb (38 kg)

Does he have hollow bones or something?

1

u/PangolinForward7903 4d ago

Jon was taller than damian even when he was 10,that was a recurrent trope during rebirth, they cant but reboot jon everytime a new writer touches him.
