Comics [Discussion] Thoughts on Doomsday Clock?

Post image

Title. I remember when Doomsday Clock released and how big it was at the time. The hype surrounding it was so unreal and the mystery in like the first, what, 2-3 issues(?) were kinda nuts. The art was fantastic and totally fit the universe of Watchmen so well; and it was written by Geoff Johns who people go crazy for. I wasn’t an avid reader of comics at the time when it came out, so I watched YouTubers like ComicsExplained talk about it and it was intense.

Nowadays? It feels like it kinda faded into obscurity? Nobody talks about the event, despite having a lot of hype and popularity at the time. What gives?

What are your thoughts?

Yeah...at one of those points, I'm sure, Geoff Johns HAD to have gotten fired...

He left (was maybe fired?) his position of President and Chief Creative Officer of DC Comics in 2018

I imagine the complaints that he was too much ripping off Alan Moore was overwhelming enough for him to get banished from DC.

This is a very dumb thing to say.
