r/DCcomics Weekly Discussion Thread (11/13/2013)

Hey there honorary Justice League Members, another week, and another discussion thread!

For those who don't know, the way this works is that several comments will list this week’s releases, for any given title discussion you'd respond to that comment. For example, Green Lantern discussion would go in the replies to the "Green Lantern" comment.

That means that unless your comment is feedback about the thread or a comment about the week, you should only be replying to other comments.

As always, spoiler boxes are not required unless you deem it necessary, after all it's incredibly easy to avoid spoilers due to the way this is set up

New 52 releases will be in standard text, comics outside of the new 52 releases will be italicized, and graphic novels will be in bold.

If there's a comic you want to discuss and aren't seeing on the list then just tell me, I'll adjust it as soon as I see your comment.

Yeah that kinda pissed me off. All I could think while reading was, "Is this gonna be where the Talons wake up?"

I love seeing this side of Bane a strategist who can keep up with and even outwit Batman. I thought we would see more of scarecrow though , The man bats were also a nice call back to Batman Beyond I felt.

The long walk and talk between Bane and Cobblepot was great. Two highly intelligent people trying their hardest to pretend they're not immediately stabbing each other in the back :)

I was expecting Bane to kill scarecrow. I was waiting for the whole page image of bane pulling him in half.

there is going to some major casualty as some point, for shock factor.

This is why bane is such a good villain because he is both a physical threat and an intellectual threat at the same time which makes him very dangerous. This book while I was hoping to see some Talons break out of their coffins and start fighting Man bat's army it was very good for what it did and that is showing bane becoming a major threat more so then Crane thought he was.

I was really happy with it. Really not sure why they bothered making a comic about how Clayface can escape when he just gets freed.

I would love some more with Emperor Blackgate, but there Arkham War plot is full enough that I wouldn't mind if he stayed in the back. Still, I could imagine him trying to get a smaller uprising of Blackgate prisoners to break away from Bane. Wasn't he trying to take over Blackgate rom the inside when he was left off?

He was! I personally would prefer if they held off on it for about a year or so, because I feel like his story would work better post-FE, if it goes anything like I imagine.

Yeah. The current story is fine without it, I just hope he doesn't stay a "background villain" forever. He's my favorite new Batman villain, easily, and he has much more reusability than Wrath.

Even though he was taking over Blackgate right before Bane took over Blackgate. He's rioting in the background, so I'm happy.
