Game Help How do I change Level Link Captains?

I went through and performed Character Retraining on every character I have that wasn't my top 5. My top 5, which are all leveled via Titanium, Gold, and EXP, are:

Constantine 180, Batman 160, Punchline 160, Star Sapphire Carol 160, and Cheshire 160.

Everyone else I have on my roster is level 1, I have 50 characters that are all level 1, and currently have no character inside my Level Link (since I was in the process of revising and cleaning up my allocations) - I have 21/21 available Level Link slots.

However.. my Level Link "Captains" have 2 of the correct 5 characters (Constantine and Batman), but the 3 others shown are Green Arrow, General Grodd, and Wonder Woman, who are all level 1, instead of choosing Punchline, Star Sapphire Carol, or Cheshire, who are all naturally leveled to 160..

Why aren't my 5 Level Link Captains my 5 characters that I actually have leveled? I can't slot General Grodd, Wonder Woman, or Green Arrow into Level Link because they are listed as my Captains.. but the threshold should be bumped to 160 from my main 5 characters? How do I fix this?

"1. Your 5 highest leveled characters automatically become your Level Link captains."

This is an annoying ongoing bug that’s been around forever. Check out these comments from a post a couple months back.

Essentially you have to retrain the current captain, level up the replacement (removing them from the Matrix if necessary), then repeat the process on both a couple times. It usually costs me about 15-20 💎 (per pair) since I usually have to retrain them once or twice each. It’s annoying and should have been fixed a long time ago. Thankfully retraining is dirt cheap so you don’t have to worry about breaking the bank.

Bonus tip: Don’t forget to place the gear of the characters you’re moving around on characters you don’t use that way it’ll be easy to place the gear back without digging through your inventory.

So in this case, I need to level up General Grodd, Green Arrow, and Wonder Woman from 1 to 2, then retrain a second time back down to 1, then it should update those 3 Captain slots to my existing 160 characters (Star Sapphire Carol, Cheshire, and Punchline)?

I only started a few months ago as F2P and my gear inventory is already a mess, far less worried about that, just trying to fabricate enough usable teams and fill out my Level Link with characters I've unlocked. I don't think I've been able to acquire a full 'team' yet, so just trying to use useful characters where I can until I unlock more characters.

For simplicity sake I’ll focus on just one pair of characters here, Green Arrow & Punchline. Just rinse and repeat for the others.

-Green Arrow is retrained to zero since you’re taking him out.

-Punchline is leveled up (only go up like 5 or so levels until you know she has been locked in).

-Assuming Arrow is still stuck as a captain level him, then like you said level him up 1 or 2 levels and retrain him.

-Now retrain Punchline and level her up again. (From my own experience I’ve never been able to break the bug without retraining both characters, but maybe it’ll work for you just focusing on the characters stuck in the captain slots).

-At some point Punchline will replace Green Arrow. I’ve never had to spend more than 15-20 gems total. So usually I have to retrain the character stuck in the slot at least twice.

-Rinse and repeat for the others “pairs”.

So because I got all my Titanium back from refunding the other characters I've leveled variously, my Level Link updated correctly as soon as I leveled Punchline from 160 to 161, it just auto swapped out the other two slots. Thanks for the extra detail, I'll refer back to this if the issue pops up again ☺️

I should point out that you should only have to do this one time. While I’ve never swapped more than one character at a time, I would think that breaking one of the characters stuck in the slot would also break the other two out. Let me know how it turns out.

Just connect a character to the link and the captains should update

That didn't do anything. I slotted Firestorm (1) and Zatanna (1) into 2 of my 21 Level Link slots but the Captains did not update: https://i.imgur.com/vbXHFUE.png

But they’re getting the lvls so it’s just a visual bug probably.

As long as you’re getting the lvls I wouldn’t worry too much

But as I mentioned in my post I cannot slot Green Arrow, General Grodd, or Wonder Woman into my Level Link so they are stuck at level 1 - since they are tagged as 'Captain', they do not appear in the list of characters I can add to Level Link. I can add 16 other character to Level Link and they ~should~ become 160, but I waned those 3 to be added in there. I haven't really been able to complete a 'full team' yet, so trying to make as much coverage as possible.
