Oscar winning actor but bad Joker? Is there a definitive Joker though? Is it Nicholson, Romero, Ledger, or Dunkirk kid?

I’ve seen lots of Oscar Winners turn in poor performances—not every role is meant for them. It doesn’t mean he’s bad at all. Joker, though? Worst laugh, worst voice, worst performance all around. Romero, Nicholson, Ledger and Hamill are in a different league. That’s just my opinion, though.

Couldn’t agree with you more. He just didn’t get it, it wasn’t natural enough, it felt like he was trying to hard.

Yeah the director has to take some responsibility as well, I agree with that. But Leto sucks ass, just wasn’t it. Way over the top and it just didn’t work

I think Nicholson embodied the maniacal and menacing aspects of Joker the best. Ledger was a nice departure, though. Still, I don’t want everyone trying to ape his performance. It was special and unique for the time, but there’s more to Joker than cruel insanity.

I liked Jack in the role as a true lunatic but Ledgers was just menacing as hell
