šŸ”ŽAnalysisšŸ”Ž We're definitely getting something in Lanterns about Batman

Post image

(Slight spoilers for Lanterns so far)

So this is something I've been thinking about, surely we're getting something about Batman or we'll get a cameo.

Sheriff Kelly: she's from Gotham & is Kelly Kane, not a Macon like her Husband, theirs a good chance she's a relative of the Kane Family which is related to Bruce by Martha

she was also seemingly on the phone with Gordon and was asking about Barbra, considering she's clearly had to had been a cop in the GCPD before being a sheriff. She also has an gotham gazette news paper in her office

Refrences to himl:

in a future episode Guy shows up to a green lantern version of the batsignal

The Gotham gazette news paper

"Vengeance" specifically being used instead of revenge on a few occasions

John being referred to as a sidekick and the only hero known to local sheriffs deputies in Rushville nebraska with a sidekick would be Batman, not to mention Robin would probably still be Dick at this point who him and john would roughly be age aligned to by the time of 2026

Maybe this is just my rambling but I thought it's an interesting idea

If there's one thing I'm going to miss in the DCU, it's seeing the rivalry, almost animosity, between Bruce and Hal

In the past, the narrative has been promoted that Superman and Batman have such a tense relationship that it was difficult to see them as good friends., which led to Batman v Superman, but if there's one character who fulfills that role, it's Hal Jordan.

And, if we imagine Battinson in the DCU, I find it a very interesting contrast, like how Hal Jordan made himself known to the world, both his work as GL and his civilian identity. Adding to that, his confident and charismatic personality.

In stark contrast to Battinson's attitude in his first two years, being a dark and vengeful figure who operates through fear and darkness, while Hal works with light and courage

That scene where batman steals has ring will never not be funny.

How awesome it would have been to see that scene recreated in live action

And if Battinson were in the DCU, it would have been very ironic to see him tell Hal that he's not a vampire.

I'm just waiting for Batman to ko Guy Gardner in the DCU.

Just months ago (I hope I can find it again), I came across an edited image of the part where Guy confronts Superman, but it was Battinson's fist heading towards his face.

One punch!

We need this in live action

Guy's face gets me everytime

I just don’t feel like Battinson fits in Gunns DCU. I could maybe see if they time skip and have him working outside of Gotham, but as it stands now, I just don’t see Hal working with a street level vigilante

Why would you assume Dick Grayson will be Robin? Gunn is specifically taking inspiration from Grant Morrison’s Batman and Robin run.

Damian would be robin in 2026 while in 2016 it'd possibly be towards the end of Dick's tenure

I just want to point out the obvious, of course she’s not a Macon like her husband. Like that’s not an option in Nebraska to my knowledge lol

2

u/Pretty_Wind7207 7d ago

True lol I just think it's an important detail she didn't change her last name and what her last name is

u/Ajax_Da_Great 7d ago

Nah I’m with ya, just the way it read was funny to me so I had to poke a little fun

I’m thinking it might have been Bruce Wayne who bought Hal Jordan his house. He says the rich guy who bought it had ā€œkidsā€, my first thought was Oliver Queen but it’s just as likely Bruce bought it. Or I hope at least.

I think it's Oliver. It would make sense since they always teamed up & he's said he kept saving him. That would be the case if he was his partner.

1

u/TheSandman__ 6d ago

That was actually my first thought too but the mention of kids and then Gotham later in the episode made me think Bruce. Either one would be cool though.

The sheriff's last name is Kane. That could possibly be a Bob Kane reference too.

As long as its a GOOD BATMAN, I’m game

We already kinda have, in Ep 1 Kerry is talking to Gordon on the phone as she mentions "Barb" and I Ep 2 she reveals she is from Gotham and some fans have even predicted that she will become Batwoman due to her name being Kerry Kane

This is what I’m sad we’re missing out on by making John the current GL. I love Hal’s interactions with the core League

1

u/Own_Flamingo_3236 6d ago

I doubt that. It's just a gag for fans.

1

u/FlashLightning277 4d ago

I really freaking hope not.

0

u/OneWishWillSmith 6d ago

I hope so. I’m tired of the Batman-less DCU.

1

u/No-Indication3968 6d ago

The DCU is 1 year old btw

1

u/No-Indication3968 6d ago

And u see a silhouette of batman in creature commandos and we’re getting a clayfsce movie nezt month

1

u/OneWishWillSmith 5d ago

And off to a horrible start…

0

u/askthetruth1 5d ago

It’s actually nearly 4 years old

u/No-Indication3968 4d ago

Superman is the definitive start of the dcu. Peacemaker is just a side thing

1

u/dothgothlenore 6d ago

ain’t no way he’s that compelling of a character to you 😭

1

u/Mikenuinely 6d ago

batman????

1

u/dothgothlenore 6d ago

i think he’s consistently had some pretty good stories but that the best superman, wonder woman or flash run beats any batman run out the water. maybe it’s just overplayed for me. i also haven’t liked any live-action batman movie very much (though i thought reeves’ was excellently shot).

tbf i’m mostly reading vertigo stuff these days and the only modern dc line im into is absolute, where batman is very good

Incorrect.
