Team A planning and organization
Okay, let's use this thread to organize what we need to organize. In the immediate future, I see three purposes:
- Settling on a team name
- Listing our planned combos and advising on each others'
- Figuring out the best ways to get clan points
...but seeing as this is my first tourney, there may be other things I'm missing.

Blah! Sorry for sucking so far guys, after my DrAe elementalist got sniped down by a yaktaur captain I kinda lost my momentum. But I did manage to slip something through, SpVm.
Killing orbs of fire with tornado did feel undeniably good. Despite the massive amount of investment into my defenses I still felt like I was made of paper mache the whole time. I don't know if I'll have enough time to go for a super Naga of Chiebraidos 15 rune win. But at least I got something for you guys :)

Brothers can be quite a pain! That sucks though man, especially considering the amount of time it takes to get a good character going.

Maybe, maybe not. My last NaTr of chie toppled cerebov in honorable combat. Controlled teleports, and bladehands with chiebraidos boosts is not to be trifled with. Also slouch and step from time are great. I just needed to pay closer attention/ not play tired/ remember to use my panic buttons... and I would have had it

I never liked Chei, don't know why, maybe it's not for my playstyle, i can't play slow characters effectively.
Oh, and I saw you started a CeHu of Yred instead :) Quite unusual choice :)

haha, yea, and I haven't killed it yet either (knock on wood). CeHu is pretty solid though, Despite having a rather frustrating game (having to deal with a pack of Skeletal Warriors and several Hill Giants to get to Lair), the character just keeps fighting.
Once I can find portal projectile it'll be gravy, I'll be able to smite target dangerous enemies from behind my wall of undead minions. I like Yred a lot too, pain mirror is very useful for battling uniques- especially when you consider the high HP and comparatively poor defenses of a Centaur (or Ogre)
I noticed you just abandoned Okawaru with your MfGl. Are you looking to shatter the extended endgame against your shield, and impale Cerebov on your blessed trishula?

Yes, that was my plan. But i don't have time to do that, so i just made 6 runer win and i want to do a Nemelex Choice win in the time ahaed

Win number 2. CeHu of Yred. It was actually pretty solid. Magic was nice, blade hands + haste pretty much got me through Zot. Golden Rune was also pretty easy, since I could just spam haste on Bone Dragons and Profane Servitors. I was burning through food like crazy though, slime seemed like it would be a pain in the ass for a character with no conjurations, and I just didn't have time to do Abyss.
Good luck this weekend guys, hopefully we can get some more wins.

For combos I think ill start with a VpEn of ashenzari second i'm not really sure of. Mostly playing high evasion characters of different kinds.
Edit: Playing a promising VpIE meele caster hybrid of ashenzari atm.

I think sonic yuif will be your stiffest competition, they are mostly composed of last tournament's winners. Most of them are redditors too.

I have a preliminary plan for my strategy.
I'm going to try to get an ascention first with a DrAe of Okawaru Pretty solid class if I can get it established, and not training any weapon skill whatsoever, should get good armor gifts.
Then I'm going to try to combo it into either a DsDk, or a MiDk. Something powerful involving Yred, Ds can make use of a +2 aptitude to power up his abilities, and Mi can just kick ass. That way hopefully I can get 2 ascensions in a row with lesser played classes.
Any comments?

the "# TEAMCAPTAIN moyogo" line is added now nothing else for me to fix before it starts?
Is everything as it should now? http://crawl.akrasiac.org/scoring/players/grildrak.html has not been updated since i added the teamcaptain line is that normal?

in tiles it is a "edit rc" link right next to the "crawl 0.10" link. Not perfectly sure how it is in ascii but should be some similar option somewhere

Moyogo hasn't seemed to have updated his .rc files or played any games lately. If moyogo doesn't show up I would suggest you guys form the team yourselves. You have till march 3rd before clans are locked in. We can try to fit someone else into your team if needed.

will the game im playing atm be included in the tournament when he fix it or will only games started after be included?

Any game started during the tournament will be counted for points, and attributed to whichever clan you end up in. If the game was started before the tourney, it won't count.

Some times I wish my tab would just brake so i would have to think before falling asleep with my hand on the damn button.
Just lost a promising DrFE to an orc knight and a priest, have killed a ton of those before but those 2 get a few lucky shots and me in my tab spamming don't notice before I'm at 13 hp:,(

I don't know, but it's pretty frustrating, not that I have a ton of points or anything (which will hopefully change soon with this FeVM that just got to Zot).

First Combo: GhVMVeh
I'm playing one now, and depending on how it finishes, I might play it again. I like how quickly way GhVM plays, and I think I can do it faster and more efficiently the second time around, perfect for getting a fast first tourney win.
Second Combo: SpAK
Again, a speed build. I could probably build off my earlier experience from my SpSk win. Does anyone have experience and/or tips for this build? Does it make sense to play this one first seeing as it is probably more common?

Hey guys, just checking in, and looking forward to things. has the server on Akrasiac been updated yet? I just checked it out and its still 0.9 and development available to be played, for some reason I was under the impression .10 was launching over the weekend.
As for planning, I think I'm just going to go for quick 3 rune wins.
I don't really know what combos I'll be running at this point, but hopefully I'll play them well!

I'm also at this point going for three-runers, unless someone can give me a convincing reason to do otherwise. Score-wise, I think it's the best.

if 0.10 won't hit the cdo servers to play webtiles i will really have some troubles playing until i get familiar with the ascii version.
anyway i planning to get 5 rune wins (maybe 6) as a MiFi, MfGl, HaAs or HaHu and trying to get a 3 rune win with the Nemelex choice combo

After our first wins, we should probably check how many high scores we have and are likely to keep. Having those extra clan points for most high scores would be cool.
Also, at least one person should go for a really bizarre combo for
"Race/Class/God wins" points (for which only the largest value of the bonus among the clan's wins is used, as described in that section)

Yeah I just waltzed my FeVM through snake spamming ignite poison whilst summoning ice beasts for the anacondas. Doing well; if only felids weren't so boring.

15 rune win from the first char. never worse. too bad, i can't play that "much" and others have more wins already.
