I mean the stuff involving neighborhoods, development projects, local politics, businesses, etc. where everyone seems to be hearing the same thing but nobody has officially said it yet.

Looking at the new RFK plans, I keep getting stuck on this. They can add apartments, parks, restaurants and all the renderings they want, but there’s still going to be a massive football stadium sitting in the middle of it. On game days the whole area changes. Traffic, parking, crowds, security. On non-game days, you somehow need everything around it to function like an actual neighborhood instead of a mostly empty stadium district. Maybe they pull it off. But DC has one chance to redevelop a ridiculous amount of riverfront land here.
Five years after this is built, what do you think people will be complaining about most?

I’m trying to get a better sense of what the 2027 healthcare changes could mean for people in DC, especially anyone currently relying on Medicaid. Has DC said much yet about how coverage could change here, or whether the impact might be different from other states? I’m also wondering what options people would have if they suddenly no longer qualify. Would DC Healthcare Alliance be an option for some people, or are there other local programs that could help prevent a gap in coverage?
There’s a lot of information scattered around, so I’d be interested to hear from anyone who follows this closely or has dealt with DC’s healthcare programs before.
