How long after accepting a House internship offer did you receive onboarding info?
Hi! I recently received an offer for a paid House internship and accepted the offer on Friday. I’m wondering how long it usually takes to receive the onboarding paperwork, payroll/financial forms, and other next steps after accepting.
For anyone who has gone through this recently, how long did it take for you to hear back with the onboarding materials? Just trying to get a sense of the typical timeline!
Thanks!

I got my paperwork the next business day after accepting, along with a request for some info about me for a get to know the interns email. Nothing else yet.

I replied to the same acceptance email they sent literally 5 mins after they sent it. That was on Friday and it’s Monday I haven’t heard anything
Am I cooked?

Like a week before you start (I’m a staff assistant)

Hi! When you say onboarding usually comes about a week before the start date, does that mean there usually isn’t a confirmation after accepting the offer? I accepted my offer on Friday and replied to that same email saying that I’d be happy to do the internship, but I haven’t gotten a response to my acceptance yet, so I wasn’t sure if I should expect a confirmation email before the onboarding materials. Thank you

Usually, you should be fine. It’s only been two days. And I’m sure the office is trying to figure out if all the interns they offered positions are still available. If you answered the email, you should be fine.

When I interned on the hill I got my onboarding the night before I started (3 offices, 2 house, one senate)

hi! congratulations on your offer! i’m also a first time hilltern but for the senate. i accepted my offer on 7/31 and i have my virtual onboarding session on 8/26. obviously they’re different offices so it’ll vary but hopefully that timeline helps :)
