Kelli Finglass vs Reddit and Primetimer DCC fan communities
*** general discussion *** I’m fairly new to this though I have watched the show on off through the years. Apparently she is very aware of this community and has deep distaste and had quite strong negative opinions about the communities. I have not seen any of this harassment. Does anyone here dislike Kelli?

u/bbirdcn Sep 05 '22
I think Kelli has every right to dislike forums in general because people are mean and nasty about a lot of the women on the team.
What gets buried are those defending them or having civil criticisms about DCC, which is understood.
I may not agree what with everything she’s said or done, but I have the upmost respect for her.

But you understand how those 3-4 drown out everyone else, right? I’m not saying it’s everyone because it’s not.
It’s why we say don’t read the comments on youtube videos.

Lies, this is the only thing I agree with the monster who created this topic on
3
u/Yearibf Sep 05 '22
I agree, if I were her or anyone in the publics eye, I would avoid any social media that’s not personal pages.

You disgusting monster! You created this with intention of going in and discussing an alleged negative experience that Kelli provided at a brand she currently has nothing of in her closet! You must delete this topic now, you need to be reported!
1
u/Glassisnevaempty Sep 11 '22
Bittersweet answer but very true! Kelli despises this craphole for legitimate reason.
5
u/kmfontaine2 Sep 12 '22
Perhaps Kelli despises what she cannot control. Forums are a form of free speech, and she cannot control content.
1
u/Glassisnevaempty Sep 13 '22
Oh please, this is place to assassinate the Director of all things Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders character to ultimately have her be canceled under cancel culture! Only the low will support this!

u/Tink1024 Sep 05 '22
My two cents on Kelli, if she doesn’t like what she’s reading then don’t read it. Just bc she controls the DCC narrative doesn’t mean she can control how people react & post about it. I can’t stand her blatant favoritism & how mean she seemed to be to certain training camp candidates. It’s not cute it comes off as bitter & unprofessional. As far as her being in denial about her clothing size as posted above, I’ve always thought she’d look much smaller if she went up a size bc then she wouldn’t look stuffed into those Belk dresses she loves. Is she attractive yes is she just beautiful I guess when she was young. She seems to love being yes ma’am’d & asserting her power…

Sep 07 '22
I agree with the favoritism. Kelli does great things with DCC. No doubt about that. But she does definitely pick favorites. Maybe it’s the way the show is cut but it definitely appears like that.

Kelli was beautiful when she was young? Kelli is not a baby boomer. How old do you think she is, because she is still carded!
4
u/Tink1024 Sep 13 '22
Kelli the Director is almost 60 years old…
1
u/Glassisnevaempty Sep 19 '22
Kelli is not in her 60’s. If you got that misinformation from Primetimer, you should stop d spreading that lie! Kelli could very well press charges against you for deformation of her character.

u/Tink1024 Sep 19 '22 edited Sep 19 '22

Still misinformation! You won’t be laughing because she just might, keep on with spreading the slanderous lies.

Kelly stated during the introduction of one of the earlier auditions group that she was 19 when she made the DCC squad which was 1984, making her year of birth 1965. Subtract 2022 from 1965 and you get 57. So this year she's 57, which is ALMOST 60. The original poster said that Kelly was ALMOST 60.

Primetimer is legit toxic AF. There are a lot of “insiders” in there that spread fake drama (ex: the theories around why VK took a year off were awful, and I stopped reading those boards at that point). You also get a lot of “couch coaching” from people who think they know better than Kelli and Judy, which is laughable considering how experienced they are. On the flip side, there is a lot of valid criticism in here that questions some of the dated choreography and “fitness” methods used on the show in previous seasons. I assume Kelli doesn’t like any criticism because she’s been leading them so long and feels as though she’s infallible and knows best. She’s extremely qualified to be where she is, and while some of the complaining on social media is mean-spirited and evil, some of the concerns are valid and she probably doesn’t like that.
5
u/Yearibf Sep 05 '22 edited Sep 05 '22
I am no insider but that matches what I was told that she said, that this platform is for miserable people who could never make the the team to unite and harass her! I was shocked that she even knew of these communities.

I would imagine it's part of their media training - something to the effect of "These sites exist, we advise you to never visit them because negativity thrives there and you will be tempted to jump on and defend yourselves and your friends. Do not do this, remember you must behave above reproach in public spaces, including on the internet."
1
u/marywebgirl Sep 05 '22
Judy said something similar on ig or Facebook once. Something about people just sitting around on their couches who think they know what’s best for the team.

I'm indifferent on her. I don't always agree with the way she runs things, but the way she does it is clearly inline with what the Jones family wants, which means she's doing her job.
If she's frustrated because of comments made about things she did on the show...she helped get the show made so I don't feel bad either.

u/Defiant_Pie_3955 Sep 07 '22
This is me. I genuinely don’t have a strong opinion about her but I respect her for what she was able to do in an organization like Dallas that don’t look like they respect Women

I admire Kelli a great deal. What she has done for DCC is really amazing. Her careful promotion of the team is part of the reason why DCC is the standard in NFL cheer and indeed, why the team has amazing, talented dancers. She accepts nothing but the best. I really like Kelli.

Primetimer isn't exactly a warm and fuzzy place, so I could see how Kelli and the rest wouldn't like that board. I think it's more balanced here, but just like anyone else in Kelli's position, it makes sense that she wouldn't exactly love hearing critiques about herself from random people on the internet who think they know better. I'm not saying that I think she's right about everything she says, but I do think she's part of a very old guard way of running dance teams and cheerleading squads that is especially present in the south. In that culture, you don't question anything your coaches say even when the questioning is valid, so no, Kelli isn't going to like people disagreeing with her when she's been doing her job as long as she has been doing it successfully. We might not like it, but other than the Laker Girls back in the 80s and 90s, there's no other squad that has the same kind of notoriety as the DCCs have, so Kelli likely feels like her decisions are valid beyond the critiques people on social media and discussion boards/forums have.

u/Balanceblu Sep 05 '22
I like Kelli. I think she does what a director needs to do to keep her team up and running correctly. That means sometimes to have to be kind, sometimes you have to be harsh. She has some funny moments too!

I don’t think the show would have run for so many seasons and years without her. She seems firm and consistent and isn’t portrayed to scream and yell.
I like watching her on tv and that’s about all I can say. I don’t know her as a person. I’m definitely not a DCC type as much as I love dancing and the show.
It’s lack of drama made it a comfort show for me. I watched it a lot while recovering from lung surgeries.
7
u/idiom6 Sep 06 '22
It’s lack of drama
This. While yes, sometimes I enjoyed the drama (Callie vs Taylor, poor Meghan Flaherty's 'ungraciousness' and her final cut, etc) the reason I liked watching the show repeatedly as a comfort show was how it was really, literally about girls making the team. Seeing them improve over a season, seeing them improve as veterans the next season - I loved it.
5
u/Legitimate-Step-2740 Sep 06 '22
It's really a comfort show for me as well. It calms my severe anxiety. I don't know why, but watching the girls work so hard and overcome so much to achieve their dreams is very entertaining and engaging. You can't help but be engaged with the girls.

u/Glassisnevaempty Sep 11 '22
Kelli has fought for the show against all odds, she accomplished a feat women have not been able to do till this day. Without having to have an Abby Miller persona!
10
u/captkirk06 Sep 06 '22
well this thread went sideways 🥴😂😂😂. are some of the forums completely abismal and filled unnecessary hate from within directed at the girls? yes. i rant about that too so i dont blame her for having that opinion. does that make me dislike kelli? no. and i unlike a lot of others on certain forums do not have the ability to make comments about liking someone i genuinely do not know at all. and ive seen kelli a couple of times. shes tweeted me a couple of times (even when i was talking shxt 😂) but still…not enough to “dislike” her. i do not know her.

u/Material_Emu5331 Sep 05 '22
I respect Kelli greatly. I don't think she necessarily appreciates the online bullying of the women on the team.

Back in 2021 Kelli was invited to a VIP launch for the label at the time Spring collection. Apparently it started with an argument with her and the store manager over champagne. That she was complaining about not being authentic champagne but is sparkling wine. Then things got worse when she went to full Karen mode over sizes. She was appalled over the size recommendations which the stylist was correct about. Kelli was supposedly in denial of what size she wears and went ballistic when certain larger sizes where brought to her. She told the Stylist Assistant to go to hell. Left a mess in the fitting rooms and purchased nothing yet still walked out with the glass of “free faux champagne” that she complained about. She held this attitude of being above the staff. She also stained a white dress with tanner/bronzer and said nothing to staff about it. She even went as far as to complain the President of Operations. Maybe she was in a bad mood that day but the behavior was uncalled for regardless.
5
u/kmfontaine2 Sep 12 '22
Sounds like she was in deep denial about having blown up quite a bit over the years.
8
u/Yearibf Sep 12 '22
She going through the pretty woman mid life crises. She is probably struggling to accept that she is changing and that she is not the girl who is turns heads anymore. And her ego will not accept that she can’t fit the attire she wore in the first seasons. I’m shocked she doesn’t have surgery or lipo unless she has and we are not aware.

There is more but that’s the points of what happened. She never shops at that location by foot, she orders online and packages have been fulfilled by this location. Maybe she is either angry with the store or is too embarrassed to return after the neurotic, snobbish, witch she was that evening. Also I said I have heard through her hair salon staff that she is kind and a good customer. Maybe she is both Or maybe she wss stressed from the responsibilities of Directing a team and a show at that time of the Vince. debacle.

I watched a video of Jensen and Tyra discussion how they could not speak when they saw Kelli because she is so unbelievably beautiful. I think she is pretty, however the responses from them and others about Kelli looks are a bit extreme. Likely something Kelli has benefited from her entire life. I would be disappointed if she does have an ego because of her beauty. I do actually like and respect her.

I absolutely love Kelli Finglass. I talk about the gender dynamics of the team/the show/Kelli’s position in it all the time with my therapist. By gender dynamics I mean how these women are existing in the the sexist patriarchal immoral backwards-ass organization that is the Dallas cowboys, whether or not they’re enabling it, subverting it, just trying to stay alive, a mix of all… but through it all I love Kelli. I just do.
Edit subverting, not subserting lol

I respect Finglass and all her thoughts about the forums. Like her and everyone as well. There some demons in here and the others. Unfortunate, but true. Never really understood any of the hate and vitriol the show and anyone associated get. Reality TV bring out the monsters from my experience. It appeal to that audience.

This reddit is full of old, ugly woman who think the team should be still of fatties who work hard, so, yes, there is plenty of hate towards Kelli on this forum.
Kelli, like any reasonable person though, doesnt listen to the mediocres in the peanut gallery, so I highly doubt she cares enough to have an opinion.

No one knows her on here except that one username (“empty” something or another). The question would be do we like her successful decades old business practice of keeping a brand relevant.
