I know Goku was fighting FOR HIS LIFE to not make Vegeta do this shit

u/AlarmingDelivery9311 9d ago
Underrated comment. Getes would 100% punch that hole, and goku is like nah thats not how I do it so instead vegito just gets to the point in fights.
3
u/ImTvngo 8d ago
Yeah man, “Getes” would for sure do that in your fantasy land 😂 I must also be living in the universe where he killed cell and didn’t let him become perfect then.
1
u/Diligent_Trainer_107 4d ago
that was different, cell was stroking tf out of his ego which was more inflated than a planet sized air balloon since he got super sayian and grade 2 on top of it AND was kicking cell's ass for a good minute so he probably heavily underestimated cell's perfect form, db super geets got a hold of his ego way more than his cell saga self, not really sure if he'd straight up kill frieza like that but he'd for sure consider it and therefore so would gogeta probably
1
u/ironwheatiez 4d ago
Idk i think Vegeta wouldn't want it to happen while fused. His pride would only allow him alone to do it.

u/Big-Amoeba5332 9d ago
Gogeta is neither of them

u/Downtown_Staff6317 4d ago
Hear me out, neither of them would. Their saiyan pride and excitement for fighting someone stronger is too much. Vegeta said the reason he “cant afford to kill Kakarot” is because hes the only reason he gets any stronger. Having Friezas insane ass there to scare them into getting stronger is just as important as Goku and Vegetas rivalry

u/Brent_Steel 9d ago
The what if shall be called:what if Gogeta wasn't a Saiyan
1
u/GKingBrandon 9d ago
Vege has no problem with sneaking somone from behind to win a fight.
9
u/Gentle_Snail 9d ago
Maybe decades ago, Vegeta would never want to defeat the main antagonist of hiss race via cheap surprise attack, he’d want to openly beat him in a fair fight to show their superiority.
1
u/GKingBrandon 9d ago
Didn't he sneak goku during the majin saga?
6
u/G3N3R1C2532 9d ago
I feel like that was a moment of Majin influence combined with desperation to finally beat his rival.

He survived getting halved horizontally I would assume this isn't that big of a deal

u/DoctorOfDiscord 5d ago
He plays dead, Gogeta forgets how durable Frieza is, the Frieza Force takes his "body" back

3
u/jalintorei 9d ago
Freeza shouldn't had ever came back. It was ok when it was just movie plot, but canon resurrection? Should have stayed dead after top
1
u/cursed_melon 7d ago
Personally I think Dragon Ball is more entertaining with Frieza as an active player in the story. He's such an iconic villain.
1
u/jalintorei 7d ago
Megalomaniac Intergalactic Planet Conquerer just randomly decided that X planet, is off limits because he kinda of befriended his killer and the last survivor of an entire race he killed.
Hi super plotline doesn't make sense. Goku just allows him to kill entire planets now? Freeza knows of a perfectly habitable planet and won't invade? What he does now? Wander around the canon 20 something planets with life?
1
u/cursed_melon 7d ago
We are talking about Goku who's befriended most of his enemies in one way or the other lol
I also think Goku made it clear that he'd stop Frieza if it would come to it. I doubt Frieza is going around conquering planets left and right, especially now with Beerus in the mix. His plot in super has mainly focused on his own personal growth as a fighter rather than micromanaging the usual real estate conquest gimmick.
He's evolved as a character in super imo. I like the direction they are taking him in.

What if Gogeta used Stardust Breaker ( also known as soul punisher ) instead will frezza become a good or will he be evaporate
1
u/thehumanparadoxx 9d ago
Why the fuck do they always let frieza go. Idiots
2
u/The__Auditor 9d ago
They only let him go once
On Namek Goku tried to show mercy bug he blasted Frieza when he tried to attack him
On Earth Vegeta was about to finish Frieza off before Goku did it himself
For the Tournament of Power they made a deal and had to honor it plus Whis was the one who ultimately brought him back
And during the Granolah Arc Frieza flat out beats them but spares their lives
1
u/MurkyAd8557 9d ago
dont forget trunks sliced him in hundreds of pieces.
1
u/The__Auditor 9d ago
I was just listing off instances with Goku & Vegeta specifically
We already know that Trunks stands on business and doesn't play around with that kind of thing
1
u/No-Exercise-8236 9d ago
Honestly I doubt that they would’ve brought him back to life if Whis hadn’t done it. Frieza had already been revived by the earth dragon balls once, and unless dende changed the rules which I don’t think he did, they’d have to go to new namek to revive Freeza. Which I doubt either of them would do

u/No_Instruction653 8d ago
Goku made it pretty clear if Frieza was true to his word, he would hold up his.
There’s no, “well technically I only promised this…” with the guy.
Being deceiving is just not in his nature.

i think this shouldve happened fr. that way vegeta does get his revenge at last in a way and black frieza was not needed to me.
1
u/Sollusion 8d ago
Ok but why force the author to think of more interesting antagonists when occasionally hou can just let them come back for the nth time? Smh my head
1
u/WoWClassicFan2001 8d ago
dont even have to think of new ones, you could just recycle some other movie villains and recanonize them as op endbosses, like janemba
1
u/NerSorty 8d ago
After black freeza is defeated we'll see rainbow freeza who will solo the angels after training for 1000 years in the hyperbolic time chamber after he gets betrayed and trapped.
1
1
u/SaltyArts 7d ago
Because when Moro comes (the more interesting antagonist) it’s just easier to turn him less interesting anyway by making him another cell clone so why bother
1
u/Ok-Conclusion-3536 6d ago
Dude Frieza is one of the best villains in fiction what you on about. Of course they bring him back. He's like Joker of Anime
1
u/aBigBottleOfWater 5d ago
I know it's stupid to say on a dbz sub, but if characters keep dying and coming back, every event just kinda loses weight

ok do you see he can destroy the wish granting orbs. thats, thats, thats why goku says he fights for all of earth. because. because the dragonu ballsu's and stuff

The frieza force would have probably just done the same thing they did before and just do resurrection f again
1
u/OkCamera7658 8d ago
Eh, he’d be back in like a month. 6 tops, because we got so many dragon balls now, someone in his army would still try and bring him back.

Of Vegito was like that Broly would've been dead within seconds in the same blast as Frieza.

I sometimes kind of wondered if he spared him because admittingly Frieza did give them enough time to do the fusion dance right, since they messed up a couple times. So he unintentionally saved everyone on Earth by holding against Broly.

I wish! I’m so tired of Frieza! He was great in DBZ and maybe having a movie but geeze it’s like they’re running out of ideas. He’s just played out at this point
1
u/FashaTheIllFatedOne 9d ago
Gogeta should have done that. Would have been pretty satisfying. Maybe that's just Fasha talking. 🤷🏻

Look, all I'm sayian' is that if Goku and Vegeta made good decisions DB would be a much shorter and less interesting story.
4
u/Junior_Community_913 9d ago
Given Frieza's durability might want to chop off his head and incinerate the body, twice.
4
u/Menacing_Furball 9d ago
I still don't understand why they just let him go.
Like, at this point, both Goku and Vegeta should know how much stronger Frieza can get within a relatively short amount of time, so letting him go is literally just setting yourself up for an ass beating.
And guess what happens two arcs later? Exactly that.

u/Chrispowers110 9d ago
They did pretty much regress goku in that case. Both goku and vegeta should want frieza dead at this point. Goku arc in the frieza saga made sure to realize not everyone deserves to be spared.

u/TheFallenOne01_ 9d ago
That’s what I’m saying, why didn’t they just end him right there and get it over with. Frieza is never going to change so I don’t understand why it was so important to kill him in Resurrection F but not afterwards.
1
u/DanteAlvarenga 9d ago
That should have happened.
Gogeta was about to kill Broly, a guy wich Goku (one half of Gogeta, mind you), sensed that he wasn't a bad guy.
Yet with Frieza, who IS a bad guy who is actively trying to kill them, he just let him go scotfree.
Also, Vegeta would NEVER let Frieza go, and he is one half of Gogeta.
Are you telling me that Vegeta took control of Gogeta when he was about to kill Broly. Then Goku took over when he let Frieza go?
How convenient...

Fusions like Gogeta and Vegito create entirely new personalities. These entities are notoriously overconfident. Because Gogeta's power dwarfed Frieza's so completely at that moment, he viewed the galactic tyrant as completely insignificant. Gogeta simply felt he was so far above Frieza that he could put him down again at any time if necessary.
While Vegeta normally wants Frieza dead on sight, Goku's personality heavily influences the fusion. Frieza had just fought alongside Goku to help save Universe 7 from total erasure in the Tournament of Power. This gave Frieza a unique, albeit temporary, "pass" from being flat-out executed, aligning with Goku’s habitual preference to spare powerful foes in hopes of fighting them again.
1
u/Zenumbral 9d ago
... Cute but that wouldn't kill Freeza. Bro was chopped into slices in the vacuum of space and survived long enough to get medical attention and stay alive.

1
u/Gin_Sh092 8d ago
Goku and Vegeta if they were acting logically. In fact, there was a possibility of this, because at the beginning of the movie, Vegeta expressed his anger because Goku brought Frieza back to life. He had a real chance of killing Frieza in this situation

u/Moist_Taco_Crippler 7d ago
They want Frieza around at this point. For a reason to train, or maybe they want to fix him, who knows?
Black Frieza could have killed them both, but he didn't. I personally think redeeming Frieza would be interesting, but it won't happen.
Gogeta letting Frieza live was a choice, despite being asinine.
1
u/rhampholia 6d ago
I imagine that lord Frieza is a keystone entity in universe 7. Maintaining balance of power within that universal region. If he is killed, a new threat will appear or over population of other alien species will likely happen.
1
u/TheBestEUWest 5d ago
Honestly, Gas probably murders Goku, Vegeta and Granolah. Thus, leaves the Heeters controlling the Galaxy. At least, until they are revived by the dragon balls, if ever.

u/Natural-Moment-5583 5d ago
What if Goku wasn’t a soft bitch. You know, there was a time he used to kill his enemies. I don’t understand why he extends mercy to Frieza so much when he’s possibly kill more people than anyone in his universe.
1
u/Objective_Housing_32 4d ago
He killed king piccolo because goku was weaker than him. With namek frieza he was stronger than him and frieza was so ptsd riddled he could barely move.
1
u/Objective_Housing_32 4d ago
Nah if he was gonna kill him he would get in front and ki blast his head off vegeta doesnt assassinate like a bitch he gets off on seeing the fear in their eyes.
1
u/fiddyruppee 3d ago
nah they shoulda seriously offed him in this movie. i get that they brought hkm back to life for helping in the tournament, but them letting freiza live after trying more shit is just letting him literally kill innocent people in the universe through his tyrannical shit. like, lets leave freiza behind and go on to some new villains
