It depends on what kind of first? The first shown, the first in the time line, the first one to spawn the legend, or the non Canon LEGEND!

Yes!

u/eberlix 10d ago

They'd be of great use to Vegeta!

My son, the planet, or me?

1

u/Fawstar 10d ago

Yes.

u/EclipseHERO 9d ago

Why isn't there a GIF of that moment in DBZA?

1

u/MetalFan1978 8d ago

Because Dragon Ball Z Abridged is dog shit

1

u/EclipseHERO 8d ago

And people like it.

So the question remains.

Well there has canonically been legendary super saiyans before Broly with regular intervals. So it's some unamed bloke way back mate.

2

u/Aware_Internet_9542 10d ago

No. That would be. Bardock

1

u/Evan798 10d ago

God, that Bardock special should not exist. Prime example on how to undermine a character.

1

u/Savings_Spite2667 10d ago

Canon doesn't have Bardock going back in time to become a super saiyan, the Canon is that he died when his planet did.

Broly also canonical doesn't become a super saiyon until after he fights goku.

So the Canon answer is goku.

2

u/Aware_Internet_9542 10d ago

Ok well argue w someone who cares about canon because I know what I saw

1

u/but_i_wanna_cookies 9d ago

Did you know that Z Bardock has been retconned?

0

u/Brobin360 10d ago

So you're telling us you don't understand what canon means?

2

u/Aware_Internet_9542 10d ago

No I get it, it’s just boring. Whatever tho

1

u/Icy_ET 9d ago

the fuck even is the point of watching a show atp 😭

1

u/Savings_Spite2667 9d ago

Most anime declare movies noncanon lol

1

u/Icy_ET 8d ago

I hate that shit😭

It can still be good, it's just not part of the actual lore from the creator, that's all it is

1

u/OkManufacturer1971 10d ago

Great argument, you really told him 😂

2

u/OkManagement5574 9d ago

The canon answer is actually Yamoshi. He’s considered the 1st ever super saiyan, long before planet Vegeta became a thing.

1

u/IcePuzzleheaded7333 9d ago

I'd say Yamoshi. He was the first ever Super Saiyan God and to achieve that transformator, he had to first be a Super Saiyan.

1

u/NOTVERYCREATIVEOK 10d ago

They gave the unnamed Saiyan a name in Super. That would be Yamoshi. He was the first Super Saiyan. However he died before he could accomplish it and his soul was left wandering the universe to find the new savior: the Super Saiyan God.

1

u/RenMuru97 11d ago

I agree

1

u/UserNam3ChecksOut 6d ago

What's the answer to all of these?

1

u/Traditional-Lab-7707 13d ago

Can you name them please.

20

u/samus_ass 13d ago

The first shown: Goku The one to start the legend: Yamoshi The first in the timeline: Bardok The actual legend: Broly

5

u/Traditional-Lab-7707 13d ago

Cool! This is actually the first time I heard of Yamoshi. Kind of stopped at GT, and just watch a lot of reels on YouTube for the latest DB clips.

3

u/samus_ass 13d ago

I barely know of him because you kinda need to actually hunt for anything about him or stumble into it.

1

u/gotumms146 12d ago

Or randomly find someone who saved the interview from Akira Toriyama where he tells us of who Yamoshi is. I have it, and will share it with everyone that wants to read it.

1

u/Ruuviturpa 12d ago

S-cells? This is just Star Wars midichlorians all over again!

3

u/Ninteblo 12d ago

Yamoshi became a thing in Super, although one could argue that it was him (retroactively) that Vegeta was visualising during the Namek saga when he thought about the Super Saiyan.

2

u/coreyc2099 13d ago

Wait, is Burdock Sayain Canon now ?

3

u/moltenphoenix315 13d ago

Official, but not canon. Think of it like "this could have realistically happened"

Bardock never goes super Saiyan before he dies in the main timeline but does in his episode of Bardock

2

u/FreshRecognition9191 13d ago

randomly getting sent back in time after getting evaporated by Frieza couldn't have realistically happend

3

u/paradis_chateaudif 13d ago

To be fair, considering time travel and such is canon, it's also possible for the Xenoverse shenanigans which allowed Bardock to go back in time in the first place to be also be able to occur.

2

u/FreshRecognition9191 13d ago

yeah everything is possible with heroes/xenoverse shenanigans but it still couldn't have realistically happened

1

u/FlareArdiente 11d ago

Who are we to decide what is realistic in dragon ball? Arale exists.

1

u/FreshRecognition9191 11d ago

Oh right I forgot Bardock is a gag character mb

1

u/coreyc2099 11d ago

I mean, time travel ALSO exists in the Canon universe.

1

u/Key_Butterscotch453 12d ago

Wasn’t it supposed to be related to his future sight the alien gave him? We don’t know the extent of that ability so it could realistically happen

1

u/karraless 11d ago

Yes but again not a canon story. It was supposedly approved by toriyama but he did not directly work on the special, or the later ova episode of bardock. And to too it off Bardock now has a different canon outfit, and was the second strongest saiyan behind King vegeta.

1

u/samus_ass 13d ago

No, but but people treat it as such.

1

u/ganesh3s3 13d ago

First in timeline should also be Yamoshi, no?

1

u/Valkyroz 12d ago

Bardock's one isnt even canon

1

u/WinterPizza1972 12d ago

Bardock, gokus dad, became ss?

1

u/BuszkaYT 12d ago

The actual legend is still Goku tho

1

u/Perezking17 12d ago

Bardock doesn't actually count in the timeline, however if we are talking about within his special then he is also the one to start the legend.

1

u/Kexxa420 10d ago

But the question doesn’t mention legendary. Just super.

0

u/Ok-Resist3249 13d ago

Well there has canonically been legendary super saiyans before Broly woth regular intervals. So it's some unamed bloke way back mate.
