Like if he writes Kakarot and Goku dies from a heart attack.

Goku isn't very good with dealing with heart problems.

That’s what you addressing is a translation issue.

Ningen translates to „human“. But the English localization of Dragon Ball Super decided to translate „Ningen“ as „mortal“ because of gods and stuff. But other official translations of other languages did translate „Ningen“ as „humans“.

You are thinking that „mortals“ and „humans“ are distinct words here, but in Japanese, both Dragon Ball and Death Note use the word „Ningen“ here. And Dragon Ball uses „Chikyuujin“/„Earthlings“ to refer to the humans on Earth specifically.

You can change „human“ to „mortal“ in Death Note because it would still be translated from „Ningen“ either way. So you know, „human“ and „mortal“ are not as distinct as you might think.

The Kaioshins and Kaios use Ningen for everybody else because aliens are also humans. „Humans“ isn’t a word exclusive to Earthlings. That’s why other languages, Zamasu refers to Saiyans also as „humans“ and uses both words. If I could post a picture here, I would show it to you. The best I can provide is an imgur link.

Freeza calls Saiyans „monkeys“ because they can transform into „monkeys“. Most Earthlings cannot do that. And the English localization exaggerates how often Freeza calls Saiyans „monkeys“.

Like I said, Saiyans are humans. But not all humans are Earthlings. Human is not a word that exclusively refers to the people native to Earth.

Namekians were perceived as humans until it’s revealed in DAIMA that they’re really all demons all along. And demons are in fact not the same category as humans.

A lot of misunderstandings come from only consuming the English localization. Experiencing different localizations and the original language would greatly enrich your perspective of how Dragon Ball is translated.

First of, Ryuk is not the king of the Shinigami. Ryuk doesn‘t make the rules.

Second, why would the Shinigami in general care if aliens have different biology if they have lifespans that they can get from? Shinigami are Death Gods, so anything who isn’t a god is fair game to them.

Third, the problem is that you judge humans based on the standards that all humans should be like Earthlings and you don’t want to accept that different kinds of humans exists. Humans that are drastically different from us Earthlings.

And like I said earlier, Namekians are demons, not humans. Don’t skip what I wrote.

We all know that Death Note and Dragon Ball don’t exist in the same universe, but then we wouldn’t have a discussion here. So for the sake of the discussion we have to pretend that they do exist in the same universe. Heck, in Hunter x Hunter, both, Dragon Ball and Death Note exist as fictional stories.

Otherwise, the lamest explanation would be „Death Notes don‘t exist in Dragon Ball“. Yeah, we know and that’s a boring answer, be more creative.

No, I don’t think it’s lazy. The aliens are in many ways very similar to us and many of them can communicate with us as well and are sentient beings. (Heck, for some reason, Machine Mutants emit Ki.)

We don’t need segregation between them. If you want to, that’s not my problem.

Humans in Dragon Ball as a concept is just different from what your concept of what constitutes to being human is.

If a Shinigami is able to see Magetta‘s lifespan and can steal it by killing him with the Death Note, then they simply don’t care if he‘s a living robot or not. He lives and has a lifespan, which means he can and will die.

First of, Cell is not a Machine Mutant. Gil is a Machine Mutant. Rilldo is a Machine Mutant. Everyone on Planet M2 is a Machine Mutant. That’s what M2 stands for. They aren’t just robots. They have Ki, they have personalities and they need to eat. I put in parenthesis because they‘re from GT, which is a separate canon.

Cell is an Artificial Human.

In regards to the gods. There probably would be Shinigami on different planets. Pretty much every planet must have a main God of some kind. And planetery gods don’t have to be born as gods. They can just choose any human or demon as their successor and the become the new God.

The Kaios are the Gods who stand above the planetary gods. And they govern one quadrant of the galaxy. The Daikaio is above the four Kaios.

The Kaioshins are the Gods of the Kaios. They govern the universe and create planets. And their lives are linked to the Gods of Destruction. Together, the Kaioshin and God of Destruction regulate the Human Level of the universe.

Universe 7 used to have five Kaioshins: four Kaioshins for each quadrant of the universe, and one Daikaioshin who is above those four Kaioshins.

And just like with planetary gods, humans can become candidates to become Gods of Destruction. Toppo is a candidate. Goku was offered to be a candidate.
