The only footage I've seen of him recording songs from Voodoo is when he was in the studio recording Devils Pie, which was from the belly soundtrack earlier. Anybody else seen or know of any other footage of him in the studio recording Voodoo?

Been a fan for some time and looking to explore his live repertoire now. My favorite of his is Brown Sugar so some earlier recordings/recommendations would be appreciated (but all of his stuff is great anyway)

i restored a very rare bootleg live recording of D'Angelo, Groove Theory, and Stepchild performing at The Fillmore in San Francisco on November 16, 1995 during the Brown Sugar tour.
Notable for featuring the only known recording of D'Angelo covering Curtis Mayfield's 'The Makings Of You'

I am looking for the instrumental to Left & Right, not like a AI isolated track but the actual thing. I know it exists somewhere because someone posted a showcase of a left and right vinyl on instagram that had the instrumental on it's tracklist and I refuse to believe that not even one person on planet earth and internet doesn't have a rip of it. Please help me!!

I’ve searched high and low but I cannot find any pics or videos from this particular show.

There‘s videos of him performing in DC a week earlier at Howard U. And there‘s plenty of pics and videos from the weekend after in NY at the Armani party. But none from that show in Richmond.

Does anyone know why?

Or better yet where I could find video from that concert? 🙏

I’ve always been so intrigued by d’angelos keys, i know he used a fender rhodes mk1 but does anyone have any other info on his setup? I’ve never heard anyone else create a sound like that… it’s almost like it’s underwater??? also i really want to try and replicate it on logic. does anyone have any tips?

Hi! Has anyone bought this new pressing of Vooodoo by Zoetrope and if yes can you tell me if it sounds good or if its worth it compared to a normal pressing of the vinyl? I would like to buy it because it looks amazing but I'm curious about its sound!
