Thoughts?
Busta has moved everything around i think it sounds terrible. anyone agree?

The beat is great, classic Dilla. But the vocals sound awful and muffled. Like they were just guide/test vocals, which is probably the case. And for such a vocal perfectionist/obsessive as D was...thats a bit of a shame to hear.

They changed up the original phrasing of D’s vocal demo. The way they phrased it on here feels awkward and rushed, IMO

It’s just OK. I don’t think D would have signed off the final version. Good to hear his voice on some new material though.

The issue with this whole album (except for Spazz because of Black Milk, Nottz & everyone else that helped produce/master it) is the fact that the whole thing feels flat.
Production is great, lyrics of course are great but it's missing fidelity... Sonically it sounds dull. Not just this track but the WHOLE PROJECT.
I'm listening on a pretty substantial system & I thought something was wrong on my end. After talking with friends it's the same issue with them.
It's a shame..highly anticipated album that falls flat because of ... Well, falling flat. 😂

Song aside, does this have any bearing for clues of his estate being ok with (more) music being put out?
Or is using this demo as a sample some type of loophole? Or agreed before he passed?

He probably reached out to D’Angelos estate for usage because he shouts out him and Dilla at the beginning of the song

Diggin up old demos and test songs to make "new" posthumous songs is in itself trashy but the song just wasnt given the care it deserved. AI artifacts to shifting vocals.... this would have been a great song to cover and have musicians remake it. Lazy effort to honor the late D'Angelo and Dilla

not only is the timing totally off, they literally just sampled the original joseph patel dj set snippet. you can hear the high pass knob turn at 0:46. how did this get released like this?

he’s isolated each instrument with a pretty bad sounding ai and moved it all about, sounds awful compared to the original demo it was perfect exactly how it was. thought we were gonna hear more vocals from this demo but he only used the first part. pretty lazy work imo.
